Altenberg Round - TRAIL

Altenberg Round - Trail, Cologne, Germany

Nice round for the weekend, because there are not too much "tourists". The trail begins with a broad fireroad-uphill. When the uphill is done and you can turn into the singletracks the fun begins. Most of the time the trails are really slippy, because the ground here is always wet and muddy, even in summer. But if you try riding Altenberg all year your ridingskills will emerge. There are a lot of small trails along one of the many small rivers. These tracks are quite fun to ride, because -if u know them- you can go really fast without risking too much. The uphills are short in comparison to other places and the main characters of the trails is more fun than work. Just a nice trip you should try if you can...

It's a muddy hole throughout the year but it's a good place for beginners to improve their skills. There are some hidden trails there, where you can learn how to drop and to jump. Quite steep but short downhill trails. Take care of the weekend hikers. Sometimes they put obstacles in your way - mostly behind fast corners ! It's a fun place not a hard working place!
