Pittock Trails - TRAIL

Pittock Trails - Trail, Woodstock, Ontario

Our local trails are all along the south shore of Pittock Lake which is on the north boundry of Woodstock. For the first 3 miles to the paved Innerkip Rd be careful of many walkers. Ring your bell! Go out on to the paved road, turn left and sharp right. Enter the trails and race circuit after 1/4 mile at the SECOND entrance. There is a trail sign board there. You are now on a 5 mile twisty single track race circuit where you can really let her rip! It's a good intermediate place for almost anyone. Have fun and don't scare the hikers. There are other loops and offshoots where local knowledge counts. Call for guided tour - miket@execulink.com

Flat and straight hard packed. Has a few sideline trails, either side, that are more challenging and some take you by the lake for a nice view. Back on the main trail lots of friendly walkers, kids and dogs. A bell is a good idea. Beginner trail providing brief challenges ... a nice way to introduce someone to mntbiking.

North of Dundas (Cnty Rd 2) take Cnty Rd 4 and park, just before the bridge, on the West side (this also situates you close to The Pines about 1km East on Twnship Rd 4).

These trails are more for dog walkers, cross country skiers and pot-heads. They do, however, serve a purpose. They link the North side of Woodstock to The Pines. Check out The Pines when you go back to the review page. You could get through Pitock in ten minutes. It's flat and fast, but it has some small 'jumps' and a couple of twisty, rooted side trails. Great for a family ride and also the meeting place for cycling club rides. If you want info on youth rides (ages 12-25) send me an e-mail. So if you're in the area, park in Pitock (also called Roth Park) and ride along the river to the pines. They kick ass.
