I dig single track and the best or at least most accessible is to the south and east of Base Camp. Go for the one rated 'most difficult' they are all great fun. Definitely the stuff 'epic rides' are made of. Take lots of tubes, quite rocky in places and can be real 'buggy' in the summer. A must ride area. Customer Service Go directly to the Halibutrton Forest and Wildlife Centre sign in (pay) grab a map and ride Similar Products Used: Porcupine Ridge in Bracebridge, due west about 40 minutes drive. |

Haliburton Forest is an epic place to ride. There is a great selection of trail, from tight technical single track to old rocky logging roads. The best to ride in Ontario. Customer Service Head out from the Base Camp and go to the Normac |

Haliburton Forest is the best place in Ontario to ride. Make sure you do the enduro race in September. 50Km of hard core single track racing. It is amazing. Spend a weekend mountain biking there. There is more than 300km of trails. Make sure you hit the normac! It is the most extreme trail in there. Customer Service Down north road to the normak and accross to the red trail to king James. Then to the Ben's trail. |

Make sure you drive you car in or you will be biking on alot of dirt roads in between trails. Take extra water too. Normac and the surrounding red trails are the best. Customer Service Normac is the only technical trail. Alot of the expert trails are over rated. |

Always an 'epic ride' by nature of the expansiveness of the reserve. Lots of climbs some long grinding 2 track, some sketchy and technical, no shortage of rocks. The trails really aren't as difficult or technical as they seem to be rated on the trail map but there sure are a lot of them. The potential to build some more technical sections is limitless, come to think of it I can't remember hopping a log in almost 50kms of trail (kinda odd for a forest) All in all its a great place to tour, you won't see it all in two full days of riding. Stay on the southern trails, Poachers,The Pass, Krista etc. if you are on a time schedual. Bike wash and showers are a bonus Customer Service as above Similar Products Used: Bracebridge-Porcupine Ridge |

Haliburton is, in essence, the ideal place in terms of land-use management. I have never had anything close to a conflict there with either campers, hikers, equestrians, or motorized vehicles of any kind. Fantastic place. I love the trails with the dropoffs and the bridges! Customer Service Normac Trail - do it both ways Similar Products Used: Go to Northern Delights in Dorset for the best frozen yogurt I've ever tasted (right across the street from Foodtown and down to the water). Also, if you're rich, go check out the fire tower (sorry about the economic slur, but it was free until summer 99 - so I'm still mad at them for collecting money for a service that was in place before they even collected money for it.) |

good trails.....but don't go if it has rained recently in the spring/early summer. huge mud pits and minature lakes (every 100 meters) and swarms of bugs makes the the not the most pleasurable. but if you avoid these obstacles really good long trails. something for everyone. |
