The 99 Step trails are as people said old horse trails but thats only 1/3 of all the trails in that area. Take old bathurst, ie south of hwy 9 make a right before the townhouses and go behind them. There is parking there as well. down the hill to the bottom of the steep hill. make a right and stay mainly to the right you will go for hours, I've been going there for 10 years since public school and I find new trails all the time. Amazing rolling hills great speed and power some sharp some rolling great for racing.

Rogers is good too, I just love forest rides and free riding, mainly up north cottage area on hydro cuts.

Great downhill at the start but not much else.

I couldn't really find a "good route".

I agree it is hard to find a good route. I tried to bring my Dad along and ended up carrying bikes most of the way down and up the stairs!! I didn't want to ride it down and make him feel bad. Slippery after rain, tons of hiker and even trail runners.
Overall it isn't that great. Two stars for wicked downhill, and muscle bashing uphill, but nothing in between.

I like the trails a lot because it's verry hilly and gives you great speed going down and a great work out on the way up. plus you can get in to some technical ridding there too. Ridding the actusl steps is lodes of fun they are steep and fast and the run out at the bottom is long and flat if you should need it. It's well worth the time to take a ride there.

Start at the main gate of the park and head down the wood steps, try not to hit any of the trees on the way down the stairs, (they hurt). Stay right untill you get to the main fire pit. keep heading on the man trail untill you find the log bridges the are lots of fun for every level rider.

Going down the steps is great fun, but the main trail is short and ends fast. I was unable to find a decent branch off the main and ended up hiking more than biking. Went mid April and there were alot of fallen trees. Still can't bunny hop 12 inch trees so had to dismount alot. Good hills if you can stay on your pedals to ride them. Longer would be better and some signs would be great. It's easy to end up on private property as there are no trail markers.
