Westiminster Ponds - TRAIL

Westiminster Ponds - Trail, London, Ontario

Faily easy ride, lots of trails, just have to explore. Try not to take the main route as many ppl hike the main trails. A few technical areas (roots/mud mostly)if you search enough, but mostly fun for beginners.

I live probably 5 minutes from these trails, these trials aren't really good at all, what me and my buddy's did was we got all these diging suff and we made little jumps here and there, just to spice the trials up a little bit, the only real rush is at the end or the trail near the hospital there is a moderate sized slope that has a big ass jump at the end, but thats about i wouldnt recomend these trails for any serious riders, i prefer fanshawe and bolar.

Plz do not ride this trail. It has no bike signs posted at all the entrances, and this is due to erosion, not traffic. Show some respect:/

This isn't that impressive of a trail. It's very flat, not technical at all, and often muddy. It's overly used and any single track that existed is now double track. It's ok if you just want a calm relaxing ride, but aside from the entrance, not too impressive. Check out Kains or Medowlilly if you want some good riding.

FLAT AND OFTEN MUDDY, THIS TRAIL NETWORK POSES NO THREAT FOR THE EXPERENCED RIDER. WHEN DRY IT BECOMES VERY FAST AND SOMEWHAT EXCITING. THERE ARE LOTS OF SIDE TRAILS AND THEREFORE LOTS TO EXPLORE. THIS ALSO MAKES WESTMINSTER GREAT FOR BOTH LONG OR SHORT RIDES. THESE TRAILS BECOME OVERGROWN IN THE SUMMER MONTHS MAKING THEM DIFFICULT TO ENJOY, BUT IF YOU CAN STAND THE MUD WESTMINSTER PONDS IS A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE BEGINERS DURING THE SPRING AND FALL.

Customer Service

I LIKE TO START AT THE WELLINGTON RD. THE BEGINNING OF THE TRAIL IS FLAT AND VERY FAST. I USUALLY TAKE ONE OF THE MANY SIDE TRAILS THAT TAKE OFF TO THE SOUTH. MANY DIFFERENT ROUTES ARE POSSIBLE BUT DURING THE SPRING AND FALL I OFTEN FOLLOW THE TRAIL TO POND MILLS Rd. LENGTH WILL VARY DEPENDING ON WHICH ROUTE YOU CHOOSE.

Similar Products Used: KILWORTH (KOMOKA PROV. PARK)IS MY FAVORITE, FOLLOWED CLOSELY BY KAINS RD. BOLER IS GREAT IF YOU DON'T MIND PAYING.

I honestly can not believe that this path was posted. It's easily the worst path in London. It's not muddy - it's mucky. To the point where the wheels won't turn. Further its been destroyed by walkers (from ed centre) and bikers. It's heavily travelled.

It's also a set of very short paths. There is no one long trail back here. So be prepared to get lost if you don't know the area.

My advice: avoid and go to Kilworth, Fanshawe or Boler. That's for mountain bikers. Westminister ponds is for people who enjoy nature on their coaster bikes.

This trail is clearly marked at all entrances as No Bikes Allowed. I suppose the pedestrians should get this area to themselves(only fair as they are the cause of 99% of damage to this Class A Provincially significant area). If you stay to high ground it is mostly dry. If you get low to Spettigue's Pond and the associated bog it is a really really muddy in spring. Please only use in high summer. It is any easy trail except for wet areas. It is short but side trails and doing it in reverse add to fun.One of the best downhills and climbs in the area is the trail going up past the 500 yr old oak tree. Please dont race. Put out watchers to look for pedestrian traffic. Heavily used by other users. Keep speeds down.

Lots of fun to be had, a few good loops, maybe 20-30min depending on conditions, oh and don't forget to bring your slurpee so ya can throw the cup away when it's empty like all the the other cyclists.

Customer Service

Pick an entrance, all clearly posted with a big red circle with a line and a bicycle in the middle.
