Old Quarry - TRAIL

Old Quarry - Trail, Burlington, Ontario

If you go east you can play around in some sweet downhills and climbs, nothing too technical, a couple of rocky downhills, if you get to highway 5 ( or want to continue in this direction head north on what ever trail your on) go across and up a gravel road 10 metres head east on rolling trails until you hit cedar springs road. Cross the road and head south about 100 metres on the east side of the road and slip in the trail. you can follow this for another 6km to guelph line, watch out for the long sweeping downhills they are sweet. IF YOU GO WEST, ride the trail about 2km to king rd cross and continue, this area can be technical, there are some chicken routes around, but try the rocks if your intermediate or above, at the end of this section of trail you will be on mountain brow rd. follow it west to waterdown road (.5km) turn right and ride down the road .5km to a parking lot on the left, hop in here and start some more crazy technical, if its wet walk it on some sections do ruin the trails for everyone. You can get lost in here easily as the trails continue for at least 25 km of twists, loops and side trails as you make you way into the waterdown trails ( which are also listed in this directory). Have fun and respect the trails when they are wet, erode the trails and there won't be anything left.

I've been riding these trails my whole life so I may sound a little bit biased, however give this a try, I've ridin a lot of places and this kicks. You can ride technical, trails, a little downhill and lots o cross country.

Customer Service

I wrote up this page so take any of the routes I described if your technical alright head east and enjoy fast hills, logs and twisty climbs. If your out to ride hard and want some serious hills and technical go west. the best thing to do is to try it out in stages if your close or if you driving in plan to spend a good 3 or 4 hours if you want to see the majority of it, I've been riding these trails for 11 years and a new trails still seems to pop up every once in a while.

Trails are sweet. Too bad for all the rain this year. They are just drying up now. Mid August should be perfect.

Just kidding on my last review.

I rode this trail today with Sir Bikealot. The stuff he built is excellent. Very high quality and fun riding all around. 4 foot cliff drop hidden in the forest. It may sound small but first do it and then tell me that. It is a 7 foot drop it's just that the rock itself is only 4 feet high. Also you land on a very steep trail and you have to jam on your brakes right away. Anyways, it's a really great place. For some pictures, go to http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/torontoarearidepost , become a member, go to photos and check out the Burlington album. Keep in mind that I rode today and the film isn't even finished yet so the pics will not be up for a couple of weeks.

Customer Service

For me the west side held more of the good hard stuff: downhills, jumps, logrides galore, big drops (up to 8 feet if you go fast enough), and other fun stuff. The west side was much better for XC riders.

I built most of these trails and I've been busy lately
this is one of the hardest set of stunt filled trail in Ontario, I've built teeters on top of log rides, ramps, chutes, 45ft log rides, cliff drops and ladder bridges
come check it out folks

if you go on the left side of Kerns, take the trail along the edge and then go right into the forest instead of following the trail along the field....stay to the left until the "T", go right down the hill, nice fast downhill section that leads into some built up stuff.....up and down, but not killer....

Customer Service

same as above......
