Coulson Hill - TRAIL

Coulson Hill - Trail, Bradford/Simcoe, Ontario

Some gradual Hills. Some technical. Quite few log jams and a great rock pile. Good luck on "killer hill" in the ravine. Trails are marked during summer months but arrows disappear during off season. Some riders use trails year-round. Watch for hikers and dogs.

Located across the street from Joe Magani Park.
Enough parking for about 10 vehicles.

The trail flowed well and is a great introduction to xc cycling.
Trail was well marked.
Good mix of small hills, tight sections and technical sections.

Love this trail. Fairly new to riding dirt after years of road riding and this trail fits the ticket. Great way to learn confidence, build your cardio and have a great few hours out. I don't live too far away thought this was one of the better trails locally. Agree it is a lot like a mini Hardwood without the extra 30 minute drive north. Definitely worth a look and ride.

Didn't know it was so close to home till I read the web site. The place is pretty big, lots variety-cross country/ up and down hill/ bridges/ boulders/ log pyramids etc. For the intermediate or novice rider it was pretty good as well cheap (free)!! Downfalls?-- trails weren't that well marked cause trees fell down, but not too many people were there so going the wrong way wasn't and issue. Highly recommended for the fun runs, but if you get really far in all the way to the ravine it is a KILLER up hill.

Lots of fun stuff here. A little bit of everything for those who want a taste test of the trail. Obstacles and terrain change constantly, which makes for an interesting ride. The clearly-marked trails are re-routed every two weeks to accomodate the Tuesday night races, so it'll never grow old. Generally fast singletrack, some ramps and tricks on the inside, pine trees, hardwood, DH and fast doubletrack. Very fun ride, but watch out for those nasty rolling bumps in the pine forest because just as you think you can blast out at the finish you're riding a one-foot rollercoaster and lose speed FAST . . .

Customer Service

Whatever the current race setup is because it's so well marked you don't even have to think. Or stop!

I've ridden this trail many times, and when I'm in the Newmarket area I make a point of going here. The reason? It is a fun smooth ride. Not what I'm used to. At no time will you feel as if your life is in jeopardy on this trail. It would be considedered an easy trail that anyone with a half decent bike can ride. There are no long hills or real technical sections, but there is a fast section where you can get speed. To sum it up, this is a fun place to ride.

These trails are like a mini Hardwood Hills. They are focused more to the cross country end of the spectrum but there are some pretty neat fast sections. The rock piles are fun to shoot over and in the same area there are some manmade obsticles. Really anyone can ride this trail with caution. The trail maintenace is excellent(for no charge) It's worth checking out. It's a fun place to go.
