Great trail for all riders!!! A different trail for everybody. Uphill can be challenging at times but downhills are fast and fun. This is a great trail to get into the sport of singletrack!

Fitzpatrick Mountain has exploded with awesome new lines.
It has held 2 BNS X-Country races which earned it a great reputation as a premier riding location in Nova Scotia.
The Place to ride if you are looking for Mountain Bike trails in Nova scotia.

very fun trail i would say it is a good workout and a fun bike because it is a very beautiful forest and i prefer single tracking.

Customer Service

start at the ball field and go up all the hils to the chalets then just fly down the road or head on the trails then switch on to the four wheeler trail and head back down to the ball field

Not a bad trail...a lot of different trees along trail. Very erie forest, there are a lot of ghosts in those woods. Hurricane Juan closed the trail off at the bottom of I want my Mama so I made some new single track off of the main trail so now there are new smokin fast trails, so it's not just up and down. Our club has been doing lots of work up there...world class trails being built!!

Customer Service

After finding the ballfield, I reccommend entering from behind the tennis courts, riding the trail and taking all the new side trails, they all double back to the main trail, lots of flow going down hill, great workout going up hill.

The downhill is really fun. Tricky at night. The back side (as we call it ) is really fun down to the camp.
The monster climb is do-able ( Steve was the first to do it ). As for 8 to 10 miles??? I'd say we can make it a whole more then that with a couple of loops but the final downhill is so awesome that we try not to burn out to soon. Final thing - This is chalet land and we're there at their goodwill...... so when you see people walking, slow down - say hello - smile or stop, etc , etc. Fantastic trail. Call me and we can go for a ride. Who should ride it.... Experts/& experienced MTBERS.

Customer Service

Leave a car in the parking lot and take another to the
chalets at the top. Start there and ride ! Do the killer downhill and wait while someone goes and gets the other car at the top.

This is probably one of my all-time favorite trails.

Some REAL singletrack. It is hard to find better singletrack around here. The singletrack has a few dog-legs around trees. The doubletrack is fast and roller-coaster-like. The climb up and down has lots of roots. The back side has two routes. One is a grassy fireroad which is a blast going down, but pretty simple. You gotta come back up. The other side is usually muddy, but continues on as a 4-wheeler trail.

The chalets at the top are really nice, and the view is great. A lot of tourists stay in the chalets, and they are really friendly. I can do about 15kms (what are these "miles?") in about 1.5 hours. You can do more if desired.

5 tires for me.

Customer Service

Start at the bottom and take the singletrack up. (No more car-pooling Rob!) Ride around the top as much as you feel like it, then take the singletrack down. If you're in a rush, climb up the access road.

8km technical up ,8tech back.Advanced rides will love it, newbies and lard arses will get tired and/ or puke.Alot of funn and chalanging. No full speed fireroad downhills, but very fast single/double track , too much speed and you wrap yourself around a tree.Did I say technical ?

My review is based on less than ideal riding conditions, rain and fog make this ride very difficult. The trail is 90% single track on the front side of the mountain. This section is riddled with roots which make it a challenge under any weather conditions.

The back side of the mountain provides a great technical downhill on logging roads, and of course a nice steep climb back up. I recommend not doing this section alone if you are not familiar with the trail. There are roads going in every direction and it would be easy to get lost.

This is a great trail, the wet condidtions provided a challenage but under dry conditions it would still provide a thrill and get the ol' heart rate up. If you want to try this trail contact Jim above or go to Rene's Bistro in New Glasgow (Summertime only). They'll be more than happy to get a ride in with you. I recommend this trail to intermediate and above riders, it isn't a walk in the park.

As Rene says "Fitzpatrick has a bit of everything!" I leave you with one last piece of advice: Wet boardwalks are deadly! I made a great impression not 3 minutes into the ride, I know everyone was thinking "Dem dere upper Canadaians can't ride, eh" :)

Thanks for the ride boys and I hope to make it back for more next year.

This trail is too sweet. The climb up is hard (will be even harder with my freeride HT!!!), but fun. The singletrack at the top reminds me of what you see in pictures from California! The descent is one of the best in the province. Can't wait for the snow to leave so that we can ride this again soon!

Customer Service

Ride it up from the bottom! Although taking the truck to the top was fun, the ride up is more satisfying.
