Kill Me Thrill Me - Trail, Whistler, British Columbia

Kill Me Thrill Me - Trail, Whistler, British Columbia

DESCRIPTION

This trail has everything. The trail has a series of switch backs that require a good set of lungs at the begining. There are many fun obstacles along the way, including small ladders and drop offs. In the middle of the trail is a small technical fun area with interesting logs to ride over. Then near the end of the trail is a large rock section. The rock section is interesting as you ride over and down large rocks, (some are over 50 ft. long). Near the end of the trail you can take it easy and cruise down to the highway or you can hang a hard right and take your chances on 200 ft steep sand section down to the highway. Most riders enjoy the easy pedal along hwy 99 back to the valley trail.

If you like technical ups and downs you will love this trail. Most of it is intermediate to advanced, but there are 1 or 2 man made sections that are just nuts (they are marked with a double black diamond). There is a huge difference in difficulty/consequences between a single and double black diamond, by the way. After an initial climb there are a bunch of short ups and downs with tons of rock and roots. The only real smooth section is the last 1/4 to 1/2 mile of trail. Thanks goes out to all the people who keep the trails in whistler in such amazing shape.

left on couger FSR a few miles north of the villiage, park a 1/4 mile up on the right. ride down to the highway, take a left, go a couple hundred yards and take a left onto a single track just before a concrete barrier.

I had a great time on this trail, it has a ton af veriety and plety of challenges. Very steep ups and downs, ledges ,logs narrow trees a few stunts and at the end a huge set of dirt jumps. It seemed much longer than 3 miles( maybe because we rode there from Whistler) easy to follow rout. No long climbs.

Customer Service

Dont ride from town like we did, go up Couger mountain FSR less than a mile to the public parking area, then ride back to the rode turn left and ride on the wrong side of the rode about 1/2 a K to the concrete barricades and turn left where they begin ( very narrow trailhead) As of 8/27/04 there was no trailsign but thats it. When you see the diet jumps turn right and go to the rodewhere you turn right again and go back to couger mtn. to your car.

Sweet trail, it's been a while since I've ridden it so some of the parts are a little hazy in my memory. The manmade obstacle in the middle is a little overhyped, I think. it's basically a short, FAT fallen tree with an up ramp and down ramp. Wowwee. The part that stands out in my mem is the end with the linked slickrockish downhill sections. Sweeet! Some really cool lines thru there. Then at the very end is the steep sandy slope with some 2' or so drops partway down kinda between some trees before the slope opens up. It would be twice as much fun if it was twice as long!! But I guess that's what Kamaloops is for.... Cool trail, mainly cuz of the end.

Great trail if you don't want to spend your whole life climing.... great views of the river and valley..... you really need to be in good shape to do this ride, expert at least, and your bike better be up to it too, the sand surf at the end is well worth it, someone always crashes, but it's in nice soft sand, no worries.

Check out the whole story, with GREAT pics at :
