Swansea Loop - TRAIL

Swansea Loop - Trail, Sicamous, British Columbia

Get ready for a workout. Crank your way up 6 Mile FSR for a total of 7.8 km and 2800 ft. vertical. The grind is okay but gets a little excessive between 5.8 and 6.2 km. At the top of 6 Mile Road is the Skyline road. Turn right down Skyline for about 2 km. It head downhill, and on the right will be a clearcut section. On your left will be Rogers FSR. Turn right at the end of the clearcut onto an old skidder road. From there it is single track with the brush regrowth, with several creek washes to go over. About 3 km down you will come to a Y fork, take the right fork and ford the creek in the small ravine and pick up the single track on the other side. From here on it is 4WD road with some undulating terrain. Don't worry about your brakes here, no need for them. About another 3 km ahead you meet up with 6 Mile road, head down for the end of the ride.

Tired of swimming in the lake at Swansea? Here is an easy trail technically, difficult physically that has its rewards at the end. The skidder road on the way down is a blast. The creek washouts are nice and curved and reasonably shallow, braking is not necessary, take some airtime. Regrowth is not an issue, a few whacks on the hand here and there just to remind you that you're in the forest. The last part of the downhill on the 4WD road is nice undulating terrain, get the big gear out set some speed records. The trail is not at all difficult, sutiable for all skill levels.
