Seven Summits - TRAIL

Seven Summits - Trail, Rossland, British Columbia

Ride as a shuttle, one way. Hardest 30 km you'll ever do. Join Dewdney downhill trail at the end to finish on highway below town. Expect 3 hours if you're flying and 6 if you're moving at a moderate pace with some walking of hardest areas. Trail seems to climb forever. Great ride, but make sure you're up for it. There are a few places to bail if you need to. Get a map at Revolution Bikes in Rossland.

This trail feels like a very endless climb. There was many many kilometres of climbing and the guys that I met up with while on the trail said that the climb was only about half the way. That was sort of true. The first half was all climbing, the second half was some fun downhill and more climbing. The last couple of kilometres was ok, but at that point I had run out of water and food long ago there was not a lot of fun to be had. I was really surprised this trail got so many positive reviews and even the people I met who had done it before were so excited to be doing it. I also spent many hours with a guy that walked the entire thing as he was too scared to ride it in a weakened condition.

Amazing trail, truly XC! Shuttle as the road ride would be punishing back to the car. This trail will push anyone! Rocks everywhere, all the time, make your body more sore than normal and the climbing seems to go on forever. Bring your legs and just keep cranking the pedals over. The descent at the end is huge and super fast. Get a map in Rossland. You'll be stoked to have completed this trail!
