stay in the middle, corners are sharp and unpredictable when you first start out. try to stay
loose, very bumpy....lots of roots, rocks, ect. one
section has a little up hill, the rest is down.
jumps are fun, but you need tons of speed to carry
through, recommend to go around first few times.
ride up sucks, but to go down you must go up, so stop
whining, higher that seat and ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and hey, i'm racing this course on my hardtail.

I just started mountain biking. This was the third time I had ever riden on hard core trails. I wiped out 4 times coming down and it took me about 1.5 hours to get to the top. I got a flat on my front tire and ate some dirt. SO much fun!! I love it. If interested in riding the trail with a beginner email me.

The best route is up the old downhill course to the top and then Machete Blade down followed by Enchanted Forest and the new cross country section. Check out Low Budget Ho-Dog.

Customer Service

Check out the new rebuilt downhill and cross country route since the logging. Not Bad!

Hey, dont b1tch at wherhauser, they own it, they're being nice enough to let us use it. The new downhill coarse kick some serious a$$, but as a true downhill I hate the uphills! I hope they make this coarse a BC cup! come join us for a day of fun, its may 6 for the dh and may 7 for the XC of '00.

I'll never go back to this poorly run event, as a stand alone ride the course is o.k., but as a d.h. course I beg to differ. I paid a few hundred dollars to get my sorry ass over to the island just to be forced to hike my beast up the mountain each and every time, including before my race run. Again, the ride down is somewhat cool, but a little too much uphill for a real d.h. race, but after a 45 minute hike up it takes all the fun out of racing down. While the race organizers put effort into building the trail itself, they really dropped the ball when it came to supporting the needs of the downhill participants. Beware if you decide to cough up the cash to go to this one in the future.

Customer Service

unfortunately the rout down is preceded by a goddam 45 minute hike up. no shuttle service provided at the race and the organizers will not let anyone drive themselves up!!!!!

At the DH race there they make u hike your rig up the friggin mountain, there is no shuttle. As for being a BC Cup they better get a shuttle organized or let people drive themselves. After a rider crashed on the bottom part of the course I had to stop and hike back up the mountain in the rain to start my run over it sucked, my goggles filled with water and i couldnt see on my run. they need a shuttle or a cheap cheap cheap race entry. the course is fun though if the uphills were not there. slippry in the rain:)
