Neds Atomic Dustbin - TRAIL

Neds Atomic Dustbin - Trail, North Vancouver, British Columbia

Neds starts slowly at the end of the Old Mushroom Parking Lot with a few tiny drops and roots. After crossing a small stram, it turns to the left and picks up speed as it edges onto the slope of the mountain. Basically, from here on down, Neds is a big series of drops and long run-outs, interspersed with some steeps and a couple tight switchbacks. most of the trial is better at a decent clip, but beware of some really nasty drops. One descends through the middle of a big route mass. RESIST the temptation to try riding around on the bank on the right side...you'll be hurtin'. Find the line right through the middle of the roots and stay back. If I can do it, so can you. Neds can be done if you keep your speed up, and stay off your front brakes. Take the left side turnout near the bottom flats to meet up with the Bridle Trail, which will take you back doen to Riverside Drive.

This trail is fun, but not really scary unless you really fly (which is possible, 'cause a lot of it is wide with many line choices). The drops and stunts are definitely easy compared to Ladies' Only and Severed Dick. Being a old former back East XC racer, I love to fly this trail with my 'couch', though it's at least as gnarly as the toughest trails back home.

this was the first trail I did up seymour. its a good starter trail. There are a few falling trees across the trail that need to be cut by overall its nice. there is a couple ramp over falling trees that would cause problems if you crashed, Everthing else is safe. An easy north shore trail and a crazy trail anywhere else!

this is the perfect trail to introduce someone to the shore. no cliffs , no wheelie drops . it's the ideal trail for some lame-o who bought a rocky mountain hammer-race and has only ridden it twice to granville island (2 rides 2 flats). but , i digress , it's a fun trail fo speed freaks .

This is a good "first-time" North Shore trail although it does require a good degree of skill, confidence and momentum. There are a few ramps and other stunts which can easily be avoided if you're not up to it. There are a number of fairly tough steep sections - go easy on the front brakes or else you will momentarily feel like superman as you fly over the handlebars (with arms extended).

Oh yeah. If you stop to rest move to the side of the trail as many riders like to ride this trail really fast. Trail does tend to get busy on weekends.

This trail has been spruced-up over the winter. There are some excellent bridges and small skywalks, thanks to some good trail maintenance. The whole trial is ride-able by the intermediate biker as long as you keep your speed up. The trail is a bit more difficult when wet as I noticed the other day in a heavy downpour. Thanks to the trail maintainers!!!!

This trail is a North Shore begginer trail.
The fun on this trail is Lofting the ramps and keeping speed over the vast amounts of roots and rocks.

It's a lot of fun if you push yourself.
Last weekend.. I saw a group of people with toe clips (straps) on their pedals.... Umm... No!
Ride on!
