Oakridge - TRAIL

Oakridge - Trail, Nanaimo, British Columbia

many different trails in a kind of small area. Very technical, and tons of severly difficult (and dangerous) stunts.

killer. these trails were basically the start of the fr movement here in nanaimo. they've gone to waste, and i'm taking it on as my own personal mission to rebuild oakridge. they haven't developed too much up there nor will they ever. too rocky, and when grandma falls, she definatly won't get up! i should have a large chunk done by spring. and if you want to help, get off your ass, grab your hammer, and lets get these kick ass trails back!

follow hammond bay rd. turn onto oakridge drive (left before the 90 degree corner heading nrthbnd, right after the corner sthbnd) then take the first left onto glen oaks drive. follow it all the way to the top, where it will dead end at some concrete blocks.

Lots of technical stunts and bowel loosening drops! Bring a phone just in case you need to dial "911". The only other thing that needs to be said is that this is a humbling place to ride!!

Customer Service

Any way you can get yourself to the bottom in one piece. It is a small area; however, the trails go everywhere. For the ride down just point your bike down and hold on for the ride.

SICK, SICK, SICK! Is about the only way to describe it. If your balance isn't spot on, and your balls arn't the size of grapefruits (or bigger) you'll have an excellent time pushing your bike beside all the obstacles and man made stunts. Full suspension bikes have no real advantage here, because all of the large (over 5 ft) wheelie drops are to flat and the distinctive 'trials style' wheelie works the best. Besides when your falling off a super high log ride who wants a 45 pound bike landing on top of them. I give Oakridge only four stars, because although all the obstacles LOOKED fun, I only rode a few of them and didn't ever get a chance to really flow

Customer Service

Head in from the trail head and take the first right. This will let you ride some moderate bridges to warm up. If you come to a skybridge called 'cloud 9', you've taken the second right. This trail is a series of loops. Explore, have fun walking!

Rebuilding projects on some of the old stunts in progress. Too cool of a place to let die out.

its good but some of the stunts and stuff are built a little sketchy but feel free to fix em up. its pretty technical and some steep spots but its all good.

Customer Service

you want to probably drive there because its a freakin lot of up hill . Anyway you got to go up Glenoaks drive (i think thats what its called )all the way to the top. There is like two yellow concrete blocks there , thats were you go in .

Similar Products Used: there is trails all over up there, some of them lead down into linly valley and there is riding there to .i only gave it a three because i just started riding there and some stuff is not all that well built.
