Buggered Pig - TRAIL

Buggered Pig - Trail, Cumberland, British Columbia

Small Climbs, Lots of downhill, Lots of stunts. Theres a long log ride with a bunch of turns, but only about 2 feet off the ground so if you bail you are fine. You can also take it in loops so you can do it over and over again. Theres a fairly steep straight log ride and some assorted others. Other stunts include a small drop a teeter totter. Not super gnarly but extremely well made. Lots of fun roots and stuff. Great for begginer-intermidiate.

This a great intermediate XC trail with a number of log rides and bridges. There are a total of 6 sets along the trail plus some other smaller stunts. Combine this with some of the other trails in the area and you can spend hours having tons of fun. Cumberland has Dodge City Cycles (DCC) for your pre/post ride needs.

Park at the Cumberland Community Hall. Head along the Comox Lake Rd and at the bottom of the (short) hill is a yellow gate. Through the gate and follow the fire road up to the right. My favorite route is via the fire road to Two and A Juice, up Buggered Pig then along the fire road roads to Shaker. Down Shaker (a more advanced XC trail) to the fire road, back up to Buggered Pig, down to Momma Bears (easy XC) and back to Cumberland. Stop at Tarbells for coffee.

Similar Products Used: Pick up the excellent trail map ($6) at DCC for a comprehensive map of the extensive XC and DH trails. Most of the XC trails are easily accessible but for the DH you can expect at least a 30 - 45 min climb.

Beginners to Experts will enjoy this trail. There are fun but not very challanging log rides, some fun roots, a drop and a teeter toter. This is a great trail to ride if you don't want to go all out, and a great place to start out and learn the basics.
