this trail has some fun obstacles. BUT, it has a lot of up hill grunts that take away from the fun. a few more key bridges and this could be fixed. trail has log rides , plankes, bridges, wheelie drops, etc.

IF CALGARY WANTS TO KEEP UP WITH THE NEW SCHOOL MOUNTAIN BIKING, THIS IS THE AREA TO BUILD IN!!!!
LOTS OF STEP HILLS, ROCKS, TREES THAT YOU CANT PUT YOUR ARMS AROUND,LOTS OF ANIMAL TRAILS, THIS AREA FEELS LIKE BC.

Customer Service

turn off trans canada at valley ridge blvd. take your first left and follow this as far as you can. ride through the new housing development to the furthest NW corner. get your self down by the golf course and you will see a trail that heads up and west. this trail will climb to bearspaw dam. take the down hill and watch for a log ride on your right. you can mix this trail up by dropping in to it in different places. you will see what i mean.

Trail sucks, there is absolutely no flow to it. some of the bridges are good, many of them your wondering if they are going to break underneath you. Also seams like the trail flows in opposite directions depending on where you are along it. I would much rather take the time to visit COP, Fernie, Golden, or even wintergreen when I want to ride ramps and bridges

The trail has great potention but isn't so great at the time. Its defently worth checking out and maybe building some stunts. If we all build a stunt and fix up some of the actuall trail we can turn this into a more enjoyable place for all. Its good that this review is out cause all of calgary should know about this. 3 starts for now probaly 4 or 5 if everyone gets out and does there part.

Customer Service

I dont think it makes a difference it has no flow either way.

Feb 18, 2001 - Trail Closed - see recommended route above

Customer Service

Feb 18, 2001. Road this trail for 10-15 min. West from Valley Ridge golf course today. Just above Bearspaw Dam spillway, the Trail is now closed. A barbed wire fence and pile of logs blocks the way and it is marked "Private Property". Suckorama...

the trail has some definite potential, but the bridges and stuff need some work. although they arnt that high up(usualy 1 meter at most) if you have to bail, or fuck up for some reason, then the lading may fuck you up a bit. No good after a rainy day, just to slipry to get anywere. I have plan on heading back, but it would realy be great if a few riders did something to clean things up a bit :D... this trail dosnt have any good flow for XC rideing, but there is some.
I gave it 3 stars, because it needs some work, but it has the potential to be some GREAT BC style rideing.

Customer Service

get on the transcanada, headed out to banf. just before you leeve calgary, take a right into valey ridge. in valey ridge, head west at the stop sign, and keep going till the road ends... hop on you bike, and head twards the river(still heading west)the trail begins just at the western tip of the golf course.

COP of course has plenty, and next to the river by silversprings and sceinic-acres is fun. next to the river, by sceinic-acres, the cliford gravel pit is still fun, even if they riped down a bunch of our shit!
