The Reservoir - TRAIL

The Reservoir - Trail, Yokota AB, Japan

When you first ride this area it seems as though it is nothing but fire roads, which is great for beginners, but if you search a little or ride with people who know the area...you will find a ton of great trails. This area is great as it is close to base and you can get a great ride in, in a short period of time. From base, if you look for the trails, it is about 20 miles round trip and will give you a good workout. The trails consist of a bunch of good climbs and some decent downhills in a nicely woooded area. This area is good for either a hardtail or full suspension bike. This is also a great place for beginner through advanced riders to ride.

This trail is awesome! There are some challenging uphill climbes and some pretty fun but controlable downhills too and some technical creek crossings as well. This is the perfect place to take beginners becasue the trail is an at you own pace trail. There are not really any suprises here unless the weather has been windy and knocked some branches/trees onto the trail. It's a great ride from Yokota AB. I try to hit this trail at least once a week or more often weather permitting.

you can get to this area many ways from ShinOme Kaido. First you can get one ShinOme Kaido from 16 going towards Shinjuku and turn left at the first McDonalds or look to the East from this area and go towards the tall clock tower in the distance, there is a trail head in that area too. You could just follow the signs to Tama Lake get on the fire roads and try to get lucky enough to find the "good trails" yourself.

Similar Products Used: There are many branches off of these trails and many more I have not explored yet. If you had the stamina this place could keep you busy exploring for a few days.

The RES rules. I have been here for a while and this proves to be one of the best riding spots near Yokota. There are a ton of trails....plus many old trails that many do not know about, that a few buddies and myself are cleaning up. At the Res....each day is better than the next.

Easy to get to from Yokota. Loop should take about 1-1.5 hours from the base. Not too challenging if you stay on the road. Lots of paved areas and hidden trails to explore.

Customer Service

You can do it clockwise or counterclockwise for variety.

I have enjoyed many hours of riding the trails in this area. There are lots of different trails offering riders with different skill levels the ability to find at least a couple trails that will challenge them. This area has everything from flat fire roads to steep descents / climbs. It is within riding distance from Yokota AB and if you know you way around you can go all the way to the reservoir and back for a nice 28Km ride before work. I do that ride three times a week and ride the trails on the weekend for fun. The more I ride this area the more trails I find.
