Oxford Falls - TRAIL

Oxford Falls - Trail, Sydney, Australia

Pretty siiik. The dh track is seriously mad... pretty technical and sum big-ish dropoffs. Mixture of a bit of single track, with a few different routes to take. Apparently therese a few XC tracks up the fire trail a bit too. Also, hill back up is bloody huge so bring a car 2 ferry u back up, particulary if u ride a dually.

Downhill
Gr8t track, The big drop off over near the lizard rock single track is a bit much but the main D/H track is unreal. The track allows for both experienced rides and novices with plenty of large drops and technical sections. I have taken some pics of the lower part of the downhill, they should be up on the web for a while so check them out if your thinking of going.

the tracks are crazy u defonos need a dually to ride lizard rock and the race track. theres alot load of north shore in lizard rock 2 monstous doubles at the end and a 25ft drop that i know only 2 peeps have done its crazy.theres a 8ft drop wit a north shore landing which is cool.the track it is being up dated all the time the race track is cool after the state round but goes so crap after like 9months.

Customer Service

for lizard rock there is an opening after this big rock which u will see it has a lizard painted on it and ask sum 1 where the race track is.

wOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this track has some serious serious sweetness to it.
it is made up of a really sweet DH with single track and wider stuff. there are sum bits that are more cross country though. there are lots of paths 2 choose down the hill and most of them r kewlness 2 the max.
be ready for sum large-ish drop offs and a lot of speed coming down the hill in places
sum spots get pretty hairy with big rocks and stuff in the way but it is all sweetness.
once youve had a seriously sweet ride down the hill get ready for a fat ride up the big hill at the bottom.
very good idea 2 take sum1 with car so u can bum up the hill.
dually could be good idea on this track though not essential. but its really really fun on a rigid, i can tell u
probably suited to people a bit more expeienced, thuogh ne1 can give it a try

Customer Service

get to the top of the hill and head down the track, most of the tracks are good, particularly if you take the first fork to the right

this is basically a whole lot sweeeeet DH tracks goin down a hill as downhill trax usually do. The only problem is this particular hill is very gay bcoz u hav 2 ride bak up the road. I strongly reccomend sum1 2 bum a ride wif bak up da hill wif a car. most of da trax goin down r very very sweet by the way when u start the firetrail go right follow along at the end it splits up dont go left bcoz it iz a gay trak that isnt worth the ride bak up 4. I think there r cross country bits if u follow along the 1st fire trail 4 a while but i havnt been on them.

There are so many varied and great tracks in this area to explore. The cross country loop is great as are the out and back tracks going off of it (they will be linked up pretty soon) The downhill is good if thats your thing but there are better downhill tracks around - however if you like drops either Jabba of the freeride track at the end of road to nowhere (take the right hand fork across the top of the cliff) are really cool. All kinds of drops from 2 to 12 feet and everything in between. I recommend doing the freeride track and linking up with the deep creek track and then playing around at Red Hill and riding back to Oxford falls to finish the day - you can easily go out for a full days ride and not do the same trail once on this loop.

Customer Service

There are lots of tracks here - go to www.bikeadiction.com.au for a map that you can print out. There are some newer tracks not on the map - a cool freeride track called Jabba - head down the road from the carpark and turn off to the right just before lizard rock.

This area is ideal for DH. Unfortunately, I am more interested in XC. We saw some downhill riders having a ball doing, one section over and over - a sequence of rock drop-offs. It looked pretty fun, but my bike at the time would not have handled it (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!!). My rating is based on my interest in XC, but if you are into DH - you will like it.

DH is a mad way to start. Mostly car width with some narrow sections but is really challenging rocky sections and dropoffs.
The ride up the the nursery sux a bit, then it is up hill again through some narrow trails which a pretty challenging to through.
Powerlines trail has some really tight and twisty bits with some dropoffs that are for the mad. There is also some good rutted parts where horses have been. It then straightens out for a really really fast downhill straight with heaps of big loose stones, don't hit them with your front wheel or your in for a big stack.
Deep Creek track starts just when the 4wd trail goes up a really steep hill. This track is really technical with some good technical dropoffs. (Pete bit the dust here in took a chunk out of his elbow and knee).
When you reach the creek turn right and link up to some fast trails with ferns obscuring your view...watch out for the big logs on the track.

Customer Service

Go Via DH, then up kelly rd past the nursery, then go along the powerlines trail, turn off to the left and go through deep creek trail and out to the road.

This is the most INSANE trail i have ever seen. Starts off easy over some man made jumps and some sand stone. It rapidly gets really hard with some 6 foot drops, then goes insane with a cliff that is no crap about 15-20 foot drop. Later there is a crazy jump across a creek and a giant jump onto a bolder and down the other side.
$20 to anyone who can make it without getting off.

It would be more fun if you didn't feel like you were going to die.

Customer Service

LIZARD ROCK TRAIL. This starts on the opposite side of the road from all the other trails such as the downhill. Look for a giant rock with a lizards face painted on it.
