Iron Bark Gully is a State Reserve on the Western Outskirts of Brisbane Queensland Australia on samford Road. The base trails are a series forest / fire trails and smaller number of single tracks. Long steady climbs and fast downhills are the attraction.

Iron bark gully connects to trails at Camp Mountain and trails off the old Samford railway easement and is a 10minute ride from the more engineered and excellent single track complex at the Jinker Track.

This area is my fittness training area 3 times a week. Never crowded.

Customer Service

Take the "bottom trail" that parallels Samford road for lots of sharp dip and rises from drainage lines before a gently climb to Bygotts Road. A 300 m clim up the bitumen takes to to the track that runs down the Three Ugly Sisters (short nsty climbs coming the other way) along the ridge line to above the iron bark gully. A kamakaze decent down the fire trail takes you back to the Iron Bark Gully cor park. For variation climb any uphills from the bottom track - the climb from Lomandra Picnic Grounds is the best.

From the Lomandra Picnic Ground there is an underpass that will take you to Lanita Road and the old rialway easement with trails off to the north side mostly. You can also get into this area off the "bottom Track" by crossing Samford at the Camp Mountain Road intersection. (careful, a bike rider was killed crossing this road here). Once the accross the road the trail down the power easement offers the best thrills.

If you still have energy climb up McLean Road South (at the end of the rialway easement) to the entrance to the Camp Mountain tracks. You have your choice of the gut wrenching trail straight up or the longer easier (??) trail from the main access gate.

Jinker Track has a great set of techncial single tracks for beginners and advanced. Compact and you can do them all in an hour
