Goat Farm - TRAIL

Goat Farm - Trail, Perth, Australia

This venue is a cleared section of a rather large natural bush land reserve. It consists mainly of a mass of single tracks and fire breaks heading off in multiple directions. The top two thirds of this hill is single tracks through long grass with sparse tree cover. These tracks vary from relatively smooth to rough and rocky (Virtually Trials riding). One thing they all have in common is tendency to be rather steep. (Note:Canties need not apply.)The section mentioned is but a mere forerunner to what remains below. The bottom third of this ride turns into a short but extremely intense rollercoaster which climax's in a 25ft drop off which is guaranteed to have even the most hardcore nazi's pants soiling.Beyond this point it continues in east/west directions with some still enjoyable winding singletracks finishing at the foothills.

Went to the Goat Farm yesterday for the first time - and didn't have that much fun on a bike since leaving Switzerland. Great climbs, fun down hills and your regular 'oh my god, that could have gone wrong' moments. The friend who came with me is an inexperienced mountain biker and could still enjoy the ride - needless to say, we stayed away from the sicker drop-offs. Had a lovely 'over the handlebar' incidence - which luckily happened in a sandy stretch on the lower parts. I was a bit over-confident over that log...and didn't make the next corner. Like I say: great fun. I will definitely go back to Goat farm and have a look how fast my XTC2 2007 can go. Or how far I can fling it when loosing control. ;0

Rode this on a XC club race day, got there early and played on the easy kicker near the end of the rollcoaster (I think). Roll down the 25ft drop as describled above, about 5 times, brake:don't brake.

Customer Service

Steep upper slopes comprising of water affected gravel ang rock fire trails and gnarly single track. Generally the surface comprises gravel littered with loose stones. The lower slopes culminate in a large, grassy and muddy basin, which creates several f#!@#%g insane vertical drops for experienced riders. Overall, the national park is rather steep. If you want to progress your riding skills, then this place offers a challenge for pretty much any experienced rider armed with confidence and armour. Whether DH, trials, XC or BMX. If your looking for a buzz then the goatfarm should be worth the trip.

P.S I was an idiot and couldn't be bothered to walk a trail before descending. Not the first and wont be the last cause the place has many more accidents and broken bones waiting to happen. Steep and not for sheep

Customer Service

If your not sure, enjoy the view overlooking the urban sprawl.
