For those who enjoy undulating single track, with technical climbs and modeerate switchbacks this will be a fun ride. The track is in very good condition originally design to move cattle and horses during the gold rush. The track winds around the hille on a ridge with steep drop offs which can be daunting but very fast in some sections. There is also a couple ofe very steep technical downhill, stairs, rock ledges and in some parts you will have to carry your bike. Overall a very fun ride to do, difficulty depends on how fast you are willing to push it. No real big climbs except the one home so make sure you leave a little for then.

I just used the other route. It starts off a bit flat and then it turn into a 60 kilometer per hour firetrail, full of giant rocks with a sheer drop on one side. Excitement includes 3 hairpens in succesions and it finishes when you come to a bridge with a river running through, You can continue on from their if you want. I didn't, the downhill was enough.

Head towards Blackwood on the western Freeway to Ballerat. Travel for approx 80km and take the left hand Blackwood turn off. Follow signs to Blackwood and Turn right once at the Blackwood pub. Follow road down the hill round for approx 3km. Take left hand track Clearly marked Lederderg national Park, O'Brians crossing and follow the track.

Good single track style riding but do not go if it is wet as it is very slippery and the track winds it's way around some very steep hillsides. Do not look down if you are scared of heights! A little technical in spots but not too bad

Customer Service

When you get to O'Briens crossing do not cross the river and continue on. It is a waste of time. Just turn right and climb up the hills out on the main road until you get to the bitumen and then turn right towards Blackwood and back to the start
