Gap Creek Reserve - TRAIL

Gap Creek Reserve - Trail, Brisbane, Australia

All types really, mostly medium paced double-track with some funky singletrack hidden about the place. Mainly gravel with some rocky(ish) sections. Plenty of hills and some pretty good downhill bits and pieces.

Heaps of tracks here. Lots of variety, something for everyone. The trails down near the bottom are twisty and rugged though, but a great challenge. The tracks up the top off Bielby Rd - 10/10! Try the track on the other side (east side) of the Reserve carpark. Ride up the fire trail and when you get to the second flat 500 meters or so turn to the right and you will se a singletrack there, sweet bit of track, that takes you back down the bottom. Be mindful of walkers on the firetrail, they are everywhere.

Customer Service

I park at the edge of the forest on Bielby Road, and go from there.

Too good, something for everyone in there but its up to you to find it. Streams run over the valley tracks after heavy rain, great to wash off yer bike or self and cool down during a ride, going here in wet weather comes highly recommended!

Customer Service

I've found the best start is probably at the entrance off Greenford St. in Chapel Hill (up the hill from Merri Merri park), from there its all downhill down a sweet firetrail to the reserve, from there you can go where you will, back up and explore HEAPS of singletracks (to the left heading back up) or cross the road for some endurance *cough* fun.

this track kicks ass, it'll amuse you for hours (if u have the energy) going up & down & up & down. MAKE SURE YOU BRAKE WAY BEFORE THE GATE when coming down, otherwise.............you'll hurt!! otherwise, have fun & get air..!!

Customer Service

from the reserve, cross the road directly opposite and pass the gate, go STRAIGHT up and follow the fire road. Its a bastard, but its worth the climb, come straight back down, once you have reached the top of the hill, getting as much air as possible from the water bars, but make sure you put your brakes on a while before you come to the gate again.

well this track is pretty damn cool..not intensly technical but there is some fast downhill with runoff ruts makin for som awesom jumps about every 50 metres or so, some of the surface is a bit gravely so whatch you dont get carried away and go into the corners too hot, some of the corners are deceptive so for the firs time have fun but go steady, when you are gettign to the bottom of the first hill it gets pretty steep with three large jumps and a sharp kink on the end so go easy or you will come to an abrupt stop on the larg gum tree right at the bail out line there is some pretty cool single track in here also, have fun :)

Customer Service

if you are coming from town about 1k from the reserve there is a place to park on top of the hill, unload your bike and ride back towards town about 200 mts go throuh the metal gate and down the hill yippeee

One of the best mountain bike rides around. One track in particular leaves me numb everytime i ride it. Go straight across the park and head up the fire trail on the left. About 3/4 up the track on the right you'll find a small track heading down into the valley. Follow it to the bottom and turn right. "Lantana Downs" appears from here. The track is wide enough for a single rider only and has plenty to test all skill levels. From tight turns to cool drop offs, it's a mixture of speed and adrenaline. Definitely the best single track i've ridden. A great way to start you're day at Gap creek. Costanzo reckons it rocks too. Mad Trevva loves it because of it's speed. Its got it all. Ride hard!

Customer Service

Was better before the council bulldozed and "fixed" the fire roads, but it is still a good place to ride. Heaps of new single track poping up all the time.

Beginners should probably stick to the fire-roads, some of the singletracks are relativly difficult. HINT:Instead of going up the steep fire-road at the very start, look out for the yellow arrow, and the trail right behind it. It is a much easier way of getting up the hill. If you keep going up that trail, you will come to a sign saying DOGS, and a trail beside it. The sign means that there is a property down that trail, with dogs that bark like crazy if you go near them. Stay away.

Customer Service

Once you cross the road opposite the carpark and go up the track, look out for the yellow arrows on the trees. There is a trail soon after most arrows. If you want more information, go to the guys who made the singletrack trails, TC's Bike Bar, 182 Moggil Rd. Taringa 4068, you can phone them on 38712844. Every Saturday morning they go out with groups and do rides on those trails.

This whole area is tha bomb.
I have a map too!
The fire track that runs across the road (and up a bit) from Ch9 is called "3 Sisters" and it is awesome.
You get about 3/4 the way down and a single track breaks off from the left - that is "Lantana"
It's a single track through - u guessed it - lantana!
Very fast and enough room for one bloke and a bike!
Awesome stuff.

Just ride and have fun, take plenty of water and use the facilities in the park. Theres enough riding to keep you there all day and there a variety different trails to suit different riding types.

Customer Service

Go down gap creek road and pull into the car park, now either go over the creek on the bridge and up past the toilets or across the field, theres tracks every bloody where... Alternatly, you can go across the road and up past the gate, just keep riding, theres tracks on your left and right off the firetrails...
