The trails around Bendigo are usually dry hardpack, rocky, loose over hardpack. Very little mud, little sand and not much soft dirt.

There are plenty of options ranging between steep tricky climbs to level meandering paths.

In summer the forest is infested with giant golden orb weaver spiders that make webs spanning up to 4 meters across and usually position themselves at about heat height in the middle of trails, enjoy!

Most of Bendigo is surrounded by bushland with many trails to choose from, it is a great place to explore.

Most of the regional parks have trails that can be linked up to make longer tracks. Most areas have many criss crossing trails to make interesting routs.

I like to go through golden gully, diamond hill through to Big hill or start west of Kangaroo flat and loop around through Crusoe heights and around Crusoe reservoir. There are numerous combinations of trails and locations to choose from.
