As of 22nd December 2012, the South Australia Parks & Wildlife and Government made it LEGAL to ride in almost all of the trails through Cleland Conservation Park.

This means Cross Country, All Mountain and Down Hillers can now ride the following trails listed below.

Obviously we all need to obey the unwritten rules and not "accidentally" run over stubborn walkers (who continue to abuse us even though riding these tracks is legal).

Chambers Gully,
Longridge,
Winter Track,
Lodge Track,
Kitto,
Gunbower,
Nursery,
Bartril Spur,
Wine Shanty,
The Mireen,
Chinamas Hut,
Carro,
Birriee,
Kirrang

Customer Service

Any of the trails listed !

Although....the Down Hillers might need a small helping hand up Chinamans, Carro and Chambers so you don't blow a heart valve having to pedal up-hill at 25% incline ;-)

These tracks are awesome.

Plenty of fire trials, single track, rocks, bends, drop offs, logs and some mud (in winter).

You'll also see plenty of Kangaroos, Emu's, Koala's, Kookaburra's up close and personal.

Scenic trail from Waterfall gully up to Cleland Conservation park.
I had no idea this trail was considered just a downhill trail. I've always always done it as a commute from work up to my house in the hills. It's a sick DH journey as well don't get me wrong, but riding up has it's own rewards as it's a stunning bush trail.

Customer Service

Try dropping in from 100m down past the Cleland entrance up on Greenhill rd. It's another track I cant remember the name of, but it'll give you another 2 K's of riding before you come to Ridge, or Chambers. OR, ride up Chambers and do the down on Ridge.

Similar Products Used: Eagle Park is good and it's legal, unlike Chambers and Ridge.

Great trails and many options and alternate routes down. Hot spot at the summit for beers or coffee. Alternate descents via the Eagle on the Hill trail to the left or Wine Chanty Trail to the right. Any way, the best trails in Adelaide...but watch out for Rangers. No sense of humour...big fines...can now confiscate your bike and they do.

Customer Service

Up the centre traill off Waterfall Gully Road is best. From the Cleland carpark, take the trail that goes right as it is a better climb than the road or the track that goes straight into the Ranger Station (read warning bells!!!)
Need to be fit to make the climb - allow over an hour.

10km 1hour circuit.
Steady climb on a wide 4WD access track to get up the hill. A few loose rocky bits. Long ridge is the smoothest track (power company truck access). The descent was easy with a hardtail, lots of brakes. Only one steep hairpin.
Great view of Adelaide from the top.
Officially we're not allowed to ride these tracks. But if you stay off the designated walking tracks the Rangers turn a blind eye, since the Fire and Power Company tracks are wide and clear. Some are dead ends, though.

Customer Service

Park at the corner of Chambers Gully and Waterfall Gully roads. Ride up Chambers Gully Rd, which becomes Waterfall Gully track, all the way up to Long Ridge track. Take a right and follow it to Winter track (left). Down Winter track to Waterfall Gully road and back to the car.

This is an excellent track. It was the first downhill track I rode and I've got a Gemini Hard tail with 1 inch front shocks. I've done it with no shocks before. The start is pretty bad because your on a very loose rocky road with deep grooves cut in by trucks. Be carful because if you get stuck in one of these grooves your likely to flip and not just buckle but break your wheel other than that its a good track not to rocky and there is only a couple of Physco corners. Most of them are wide but still steep. Good track for un experienced riders. Even if you go slow for the first time its bloody good.

Customer Service

Go to the top of Greenhill road and on Yarabee. Stop at the top of the wine shanty track. This is the very top of the track at the bottom you'll get to waterfall gully road

going up this track is incredibly steep but coming down you get major speed up to 65ks per hour. Some areas have huge rocks but as long as u miss them and dont miss a corner and go off a cliff u'll have a heaps good time - ride with a friend and race down for extra fun. Afterwards you can ride up waterfall gully road and do Winter trail which haves some huge jumps.

This is a cool track but stay out of the water slides (grooves)in the track. Get in them and you are screwed, you have to stop and get your bike out. At the bottom of the really steep bit, get some speed up to make it up the hill after it.

Customer Service

Up greenhill road, on your right, big wire gate. WARNING: Must lift bike over poles at start and end. Finishes at Waterfall Gully road.
