Directions to Trailhead:	Take the loop road that goes around Moab, park at the Warner Lake area or anywhere you want to. Good place to camp and then do exploratory riding.
Trail Description:	No particular trail, just lots of gravel roads in the national forest to ride and explore. Lots of trees and cooler temps as compared to Slickrock.

Recommended Route: Moonlight meadow, Gold Basin, Trans La Sal, round the mnt. All of the normal loops are great! Other recommended trails in the same area: The La Sals have their own beauty, rugged and desolate yet the range is a rather small cluster. Lot's of users, so you will see others (10 years ago you could get the freaky "eebee jeebies" and not see a soul all day. I guess that can be true for most places,....aaahhh the good old days. The La Sals are a great escape from the sometimes annoying throngs of people in town and the riding can be awesome. just note: most of the trails in the la sals are tweaked. I mean that they have been rutted from rains, cattle, & riders taking multiple lines through soft areas. The rocky trails are VERY rocky. The riding can beat you up. Be ready for hard, jarring riding that will challenge your endurance. The altitude is high, the climbs are steep. Many riders love this type of riding, if so, this place is the best. If you are looking for a smoother ride, you may not like these trails. There are other trails in this part of the world, not too far away,..that have the same alpine setting, equally, if not better views and the single track through the aspens are so sweet & smooth you will have to have the smile surgically removed from your face after riding them. Just explore, you never know what you may find!
Review: Camp @ Warner Lake, there are lot's of options for short single track loops, all day rides & even some killer overnighters. Good rock climbing close by. Fall is the best with all of the colors & good weather. Summer can be hot & crowded. Spring can be good, but most likely too wet & soft. Winter,...well leave the bike in town, hike up to the top of Peale with your skis and launch off the top for some outrageous back counry skiing!	Overall Rating:

Review: The trails listed above are all trails (and there are many more) the La Sal Mountains have to offer. It is more appropraite to review these trails individually than to group them into one generalized review. The riding in the La Sal Mountains will rock your world and views into the canyons below are amazing. A trip to Moab is not complete without venturing into the relatively unknown mountains. The mountains are not for the faint of heart - the climbs are big and the descents can be hair raising. In general the trails are not very well marked so grab a Moab guide book, map or swing into a shop and get the beta.	Overall Rating:

Recommended Route: There's tons. Too many to count. Just explore. Other recommended trails in the same area: All the moab greats: Slickrock, porcupine, ect.
Review: Tons cooler than downtown Moab and Slick rock. There is some pretty good single track if you go to the right places. Not a lot of traffic up that way so the trails are usually fresh. Riding the trails feels a little akward( at least it did for me) because I didn't always know where Id end up. Most of the trails I rode I went out and back. Most of the trails I rode on had Knocked over trees coming across the trail. Some of them were to thick even to ride over. Not a lot of people go there, so you kind of have to make your own routes. Review: Some of the best riding in the Moab area is in the La Sal Mountains, which are only 20-30 minutes out of town. While some of the route finding can be difficult and not all the trails are well labeled, the La Sals offer many great trails to ride. Stop in any of the local bike shops to get trail details, books, and maps of the area. If you are looking for a way to escape the summer heat or just want something different then the rocky desert riding, look to the mountains.	Overall Rating:

Recommended Route: As discribed but done as a loop. Other recommended trails in the same area: slickrock and Bartlets wash for a little playtime.
Review: This trail has great views but when you ride it a as a loop its for total mountain goats,not a technical moment on the climb but so steep that after the pond on the right we spent the entire time pushing. We did this trail in late June and neer the top we had to portage a lot over snow and dead fall. We all ride 2 to 3 times a week and are pretty strong riders but this ride drained all of our 100 ounce packs and by the finish we all swore we wouldnt be back. Be aware that most of this ride is above 7500 feet and its pretty remote. We didnt see another person all day, we didnt even see any tire tracks. If you like relly steep climbs you may like it I only hope the snow melts and theres less deadfall.	Overall Rating:

Recommended Route: We followed the route described in "Above and Beyond Slickrock" by Todd Cambell. Route finding can be difficult in spots, especially through the meadows. Bring a good map and take your time. Other recommended trails in the same area:
Review: The area is beautiful. What a contrast to the desert below! Great views of the valley from the access road. I felt like I was riding in New Hampshire or Colorado instead of Moab. The area has lots of technical singletrack with wet roots, tight rocks, mud holes, and undergrowth and trees encroaching on the trail. My shins were totally torn up by bushes at the end of the ride. We visited the La Sals after hammering for a few days and bonked about 2/3 of the way through the ride. If I had more energy I would've enjoyed the ride more. I gave the ride an extra star for scenery.	Overall Rating:
