Park City |
Directions to Trailhead: |
Take state highway U.S.40 to Park City. Once in Park City, you'll find the trail-head off Bonanza Dr. and Prospector, or off Wyatt Earp Way. Other trail heads are located in Promontory, Wanship, and Coleville. Each town has brown "Rail Trail" sign posted pointing toward each trail-head. So, if you want to start in those towns, just follow the signs to the trail-head. For Wanship, and Coleville, take I-80 east to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Take the Wanship or Coleville exits and follow the brown "Rail Trail" signs to the trail-head. |
Trail Description: |
Wide and relatively flat trail is paved (1 mile) through Park City and turns to compacted road base after leaving Prospector Sq. In the 1800's, trains had to travel this route into Park City, so the grade is never more than 3 percent. It's all down hill out of Park City to Echo Reservoir. |

Recommended Route: Start in Coleville, head towards the Echo Reservoir dam (4 miles from Coleville trail-head). Turn around and start heading towards Park City. Once in Park City, rest up for a few minutes. Then get ready for a gravity-assit, wind-assist fast ride back to Coleville!
