Start at the parking lot when your asked to stop before driving toward the trailhead to cecret lake. Their is a parking lot next to the guard/ranger checkpoint. This trail goes down toward the ski resort and then you procede toward cecret lake, before getting there you will reach a turn off to germania pass, but don't take this, find the small, windy and steep single track through the thick green areas for the most challenging ride. Eventually you will get to the cecret lake trail, but don't start from that trailhead. Instead, you will eventually merge into it. If you've ever hiked to secret lake, you will know that once you get close to the lake, it gets very steep and rocky, we rode most of it, but its quite difficult. Once we got to cecret lake, we walked our bikes around, jumped on another trail and headed to the top of the resort. From the top you can see Timpanogas and the back side of the resort. When you ride down your going to cat track it all the way, eventually you'll ride down germania pass. Be careful, there are some wicked dips that can tear you up if your not ready for them. And its true, the altitude does give your lung's the workout of a lifetime! We sort of made this route up, as it was our first time, but it was worth not taking the traditional germania pass and then riding the same trail down.

Review:

Amazing ride, if your lucky you'll see some moose! Lots of wild flowers if you're riding with a lady friend. Great view of american fork canyon from the top. Very tiring on the legs and a reasonably safe downhill, on a wide ski trail and fast at the same time.

Review:

Very steep climbs. If you're not used to high altitudes, you may be huffin and a-puffin before getting very far up the hill. The views from the top are spectacular, and the descent is very loose and rocky, lotsa fun for the technical types. If you have a vehicle shuttle, enjoy the blazing descent down the canyon road.
