If the deer can take it I'm down. Last time donner and vixen bit the dust right off but the others survived. Fireswamp and Thieves forest are tests for them there deers hooves and antlers going in between trees. Me sleigh don't fit through half of em anywayz.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Horse fuh trail, tanner park(reindeer ramps)

Review:

I did this on my rigid sleigh and 8 tiny reindeer with no disc brakes or shock absorbers. Which means any of you can handle it. Rudolph bit the dust first turn on twist and shout and was out for the season. Cupid twisted his hoof and is doing swell. The rest held up good let that be a lesson to take extra deer just in case.

For an all out fun fast ride take Naildriver or little more tech go twist and shout. For really tech fireswamp or thievs forest.

Deer valley is such a good ride for the whole day! I love the naildriver trail it is very fast. But I am really into DH so the only way to go is fireswamp. It is very technical thats probably why there are no sighns around leading you to it. Just follow the DH riders and have a blast!

I thought that I once knew how to ride a bike. then I rode twist and shout and then the DEVO. I learned quickly that there was much to learn but by the end of the day I had it down. now I can go any where and not be very challenged by things because it made me a way better rider. The only thing left for me is BC and all the stunts.

The new trail, #20 Devo Downhill!!! If I am a dual slalom rider on a hardtail, than anybody on a full suspension can do it. Be prepeared to crash

Other recommended trails in the same area:
#17 and #6 but week after ridin #20.

Review:

Even though it says the NCS Dh course(which is very fun and wicked to race on also) but Devo Downhill tests your skills and lets you know that you can ride a dh course on a hardtail and show up the 8" travel guys and have a blast doin it. I could beat some downhillers on this trail on my hardtail.

Warm up w/ #1, then hit #19, #2 (detour), and #5 (in that order) for a good variety.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Pipeline (Millcreek) and South Fork (Provo Canyon)

I'm new to downhill - I'm a bigger guy so I get going faster and it takes me longer to stop. But DV is absolutely incredible! It's been very easy for me to learn new stuff up there, and I'm getting a lot better. Maybe next time I'll try Twist & Shout.

Devo is the best trail I love it, it is very tecnical and takes a lot of balls to do it. Lots of drop off's, Downhill bikes and disc brakes are recomended but I do it on my Y-3 so you don't have to have em. 17 and 6 are way fun to but do them before Devo or else they will fell like your riding on the side walk to your friends house compared to Devo.

All I can say is Wicked Madd. I love this place..I'm a bigger guy so sometimes it's hard to keep up with some of my smaller friends on XC rides. But when I come here it's my turn. You can take it easy, but if your scared stay home. I became one with the earth more than once, but it gives my buddys a great show. The main thing you need on your side if you want to Rip is "NO FEAR""

They're all good but they added a new one this year called Devo Downhill. It says downhill bike and pads recommend and the point is well taken. This trail has tons of drop offs, logs, trees, rocks, switchbacks, anything. It is very technical and fun. Just try not to crash to much like me. Other great trails are #17 and #6 (Twist and Shout). Have fun.

One thing that bugs me is the stupid people that come up there and don't know that the brake lever on the left actually does something so they skid on every turn making it all washboardy. Oh well, just watch out for them and the stupid hikers that aren't supposed to be on the trails.

Although I am new to the mtbing community, words cannot explain how much fun riding at Deer Valley is. There are trails for all skill levels and they go from soft-soil rooty wooded areas to rocky streep switchbacks. If you live in this area Deer Valley is a must visit.

I wanted to update my review of last year. First, the trail is beautiful still. The environment, aspens, pines, alpine meadows, is gorgeous.

The snow has now all melted (actually it's been quite dry here), and I've been on the trail three times over the past two weeks. It's still very technical, with a couple of uphill sections with lots of twisties. Those of you from the flatlands are going to be challenged because of the thin air and technical riding.

I have a new Merlin Echo, and I think it's the perfect bike for the trail. It handles the uphills, downhills and technical singletrack very well.

At any rate, I think a nice hardtail or one of the newer lighter full suspension bikes work best.

In Park City? Yeah right. In Salt Lake, look no further than Bonneville Shoreline for about 1.5 hours of singletrack.

Review:

There's a reason that this is a regular stop on the NCS tour year after year. Deer Valley is a beautiful place and the this is NOT the only trail they have. They actually have a lift up higher than the national course that gives access to a well-maintained system of about 30 trails. All for $7. Anyway, the NCS downhill is incredible. Not super fast, but lost of corners and drops, a couple kick 'em ups (jumps for those not in the know), and a rock garden that still gets me nervous even though I practically lived up there the month before nationals this year.

Try the Tour de Suds, especially if you have a good climbing bike. Freeriders will be challenged.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Sundance. It's not far away, slight less technical, but a better cardio workout.

Review:

I have a season's pass here, and of course, I live about 10 minutes away. I bring two bikes, my freeride and my hardtail. You take a lift from about 8000 feet up to 10000 feet, so it's a good drop. The downhill course has a number of really technical trails, some of which require bike handling that a freeride type of bike can't do. On those trails, I use my hardtail. Other trails, you can point your bike basically downhill and get some good speed going. The only thing I hate about this place is the idiots who bring their Huffy's, etc. and realize that there are no beginner trails. You don't know how many times I've come around a corner, and there is a family group (and Mormon familes are huge) standing around and chatting. It ticks me off. Otherwise, it's great.

If you are close there isn't much reason to go elsewhere.

Review:

Excellent for anyone wanting to test out their full suspension bike or skill for that matter. A small fee buys you a lift pass and all the rides to the top you can handle. The mountain just about has it all. Wide, narrow, fast, technical, trees etc. etc..
It's also great if you think riding the tram is for wimps. Climbing to the top is a pretty good workout.
