Edwards Point,Booker T. Washington park trail (new).

Review:

Access to these trails is much more difficult now. The power line access from Hunter Middle School is posted NO BIKES. Subdivision encroachment has eliminated parts of the dirt road. Access into the TNT area is now blocked with a locked gate and multiple warning signs. If you can find a way in it might be worth riding but I didn't enjoy my attempt today.

I've ridden these trails since '92 (started on a fully rigid bike) and haven't grown tired of them yet! If you're looking for lush single track through the woods...this ain't it. If you want a hard workout and only have an hour...this will do it. Fast downhills and tough climbs, and hot and sunny in summer. You can spend several hours out here taking different paths, but they will all have lots of hills. Some say its not technical...well, you try rolling down 12-15% grade on rocky, rutted hardpack to be faced with the same on the way up as soon as you hit the bottom. Runners in the area have a name for these trails..."Not for the Young"...and with good reason. Wimps need not apply.

Start from Bonny Oaks, right across from the Redoubt soccer field parking lot. From the gravel road across the parking lot, turn left before you get to the small underpass.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Edward's Point, Prentice Cooper, Pigeon Mtn., my back yard

Review:

These are okay trails to ride if you are completely tired of the other trails in the Chattanooga area. I like to start the trails from Bonny Oaks across from the Redoubt soccer field. This way you can avoid the boring ride along the power lines. There is nothing but hills to ride, and there are some great jumps if you don't mind living on the edge. Some of the jumps are really dangerous because of the rough trails and the big rocks lying around. There are a couple of jumps where you can get some serious air, but don't complain to me when you break something.

This trail, as I have known it, is also known as TNT. It is a blast of a trail. I usally start from the intrance in Flagstone. There is an old pond back in the woods that has some awesome things to jump and play around on! The riding is fast and furious. One of my friends took me out there when I was just learning to ride, and it scared me to death! The decents under the power lines are great (25-35 mph!), and there are some awesome jumps if you have the balls to hit em'. The trail has many routes and can be ridden many different ways. The only caution that I have would be to watch out in the summer. When there is no rain for a long time it gets really dusty. Have fun!

peigon mountian, berry college

Review:

This place is horrible! I came after seeing it on this page and expected some fire roads, but all thats there are dirt roads under power lines through a subdivision. The "roads" are rocky, loose dirt that is less than ideal for riding. I wouldn't even ride it again if I lived in the sub division. Those of you who gave this a 5 rateing, you must have never ridden a real trail. Go ride at peigon mountian in GA, or even stringers ridge is better than this place. At least its a trail and not just open dirt. Trust me and DO NOT ride this place.

I usually ride it at least 4 times a week. I live less than a mile from it. Nice trails now, but the trails to/from Hunter Middle were even better until they started construction.

I-75 to Ooltewah exit, take Hunter Rd. to Flagstone Dr., then look for power lines.

Harrison Bay, Owl Hollow, Biology trail at Southern Adv. Univ.

Don't ever try these trails in the heat of the summer--it's blazing hot out in the open. Lots of trails, but all of them are fire roads. The only fun in them is a couple of sections of downhills with jumps that go on for about a mile.

I start at the Hunter Middle School parking lot and ride south along the power lines.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Harrison Bay - good easy trail
Prentice Cooper- great fun!

I rode these trails for the first time this past weekend after reading about them on this site. What a great place to ride! You can get a real workout from the steep downhills followed by the steep climbs on the jeep roads. Once you get into the woods, there are a lot of different paths to ride. It is not technical but the scenery and the hills will keep you occupied!

Review:

This place is the best in the area. I think better than even the Edwards Point trails because it is so intresting. I raced in two races there the 1st one I liked better because my bike did perfect and the trail was much better. There are many steep hills, killer downhill (dry), tons of different routes, and what I like about it is that you can ride a different route every week and you would never ride all of them there are so many. You can also ride on all of the old paved roads as well if you are a little beat up. Make sure you try out these trails if you live in the south eastern area, just be carefull and dont get
lost. I almost always just ride the race routes which are still spray painted on the ground so you can get around without getting lost. If I dont ride on the race course I usually just go one new road each time and eventually know a ton of trails.
