Review:

This was at one time one of my favorite trails in the Chattanooga area and beyond. It was not very long but was great for after work/school rides. Had good singletrack, technical sections, climbs, tight stuff and so on. Unfortunately, the trail has gone to sheet. There are trees down all over(mostly un-passable)and four wheelers have turned some of the sweet and twisty singletrack into crap. Complete shame. Used to be good one. Chattanooga is losing some of it's better trails...TNT, Stringers, gotta pay for Booker and Harrison when they are not underwater. I've heard that Roberts Mill was gettin' shut down. Lula lake is only open what two weekends a month. Sorry for the rant, but what a freakin'shame! Guess it's time to do some trail work. In the meantime I'll be on my road bike. Five stars for a tribute to once was and potential future...one star for current codition.

Coming from downtown Chattanooga go through the tunnel into Red Bank and take the first road on you right and go about one mile and take a right into Ridgemont Apartments and park in the back. You should see the trail from there.

I love this trail area and ride it twice a week if i get the chance. My suggestion is to go to the main logging road on the bottom and take a right into the woods. From here you can go Staight which will lead to about 15 or so built stunts. To the right is an ATV trail, and the to left is some loose dirt single track that works its way down to the Red Bank end of Stringer's Ridge. All of these trails are great, rifde them for yourself and make the call, but you can't go wrong with any of the trails. But my suggestion would have to be, to go to the top either up throught the jumps and taking a left or going up the trail to the left of the jumps and taking a right going up the ridge and then taking a left. Once on this trail you will go about fifty yards or so and see some ladder trails off to your right take these onto a log and the across the trail up another bidge which will go across a pine tree and into a little trail which leads into the helix. Continuing on you will go into another short trail and across a log and down the log. This is a tough tight turn so be careful, bail off the the right if you have to. After the log you will go across the teeter-totter or see-saw and up a slight climb that leads into a really nice big air jump. This jump gives you tons of speed and momentum that will aid you in going up the bridge. This bridge is very tough if you can't maintain you momentum and your balance and the landing is a killer.(Believe me i know) And last but not least is the drop off. This is a big roller coaster like drop off the gets you up to about 20 miles and hour or more. These trails test you skills more than most and give you a taste of those North Shore trails from our neighbors to the North. These Trails took Brandon, Michael, and Myself alot of time to build and we are still building and looking for ways to go bigger and better and possibly jumping the dirt trail at the bottom but who knows. So please ride the trails at stringer's responsibly and be safe and courtious. Pick up trash if you see it because we can't do it alone. And Watch out for those people on ATVs.

I do this trail about 3 or 4 times a week. It is a great place to train and lately it has been a great place to meet other bikers. The are some littered parts but not like what some would make it out to be. You do have to watch out for overgrown thorn bushes on the tight singletrack areas but go on through and show everyone your biking scars. There really are a ton of different trails and ways to do the trails. My friends and I have been riding these trails for over 5 Years and we just keep finding different stuff to do out there. Lots of fun.

This trail is an ok trail can be good to take newbies on or train, it is in no way an "advanced Rated trail" The good is its close to town and can be a nice place to get a qicki ride in, the not so good it needs a bit of trailwork, there more trash on some of the trails than at the local dump and oh wacth out for the atv's.

Everything from abandoned roadbeds to tight singletrack. Everyone rides the two ridges that define the powerline trail, but there's secret trails on the third ridge. Find it if you can but don't ride through my yard. Stay clear of the Pine trees if the wind is kickin cause they'll fall on your head. These trails have some difficult areas, if you can ride it all(more like 10+ actual miles of trails) you must be good. I almost always have to clip out somewhere along the way. Sorry about the old junk laying around the trails, most of it has been there 30+ years and engine blocks are hard to haul off. We do keep the deadfalls and briars trimmed back ya know. The land is owned by the company that built the Grandview building(you'll see it) they wanted to build 3 or 4 more but the ground is to unstable. Wonder where the No Tresspasing signs went?? I saw them once in a bad dream.

This trail is good for all of us in the chattanoga area, but I wouldn't recomend traveling any distance to ride it. I agree that it has some potential if people would work on it, but it is still pretty good. Kinda rough in spots though. So, if you live in chattanooga or north GA, check it out.....if not, dont bother.

grueling climbs. i love it. Correction to one of the previous reviews, there are actually 3 bike shops within 1-2 miles of this trail. The 2 abondoned houses kind of give the place a creepy feel if you nightride it.

My favorite trail in Chattanooga. Once you get used to it you can have a ball out there. Good climbing, good descending, great technical sections, and convenience make this my primary riding trail. I go out here 3-4 times a week. There has been some talk of the land being devoloped so if anyone wants to experience this great ride you might want to make your way out there sooner rather than later.

this trail has awesome potential if some of the bike geeks in the area would put a little work into it . considering there are two bike shops within 1 mile , thats right one mile, it should be pretty easy to get the job done . i enjoyed exploring the trail and finding all the little secrets , i especially liked the jumps on the road parts , the trails under the power lines were sweet. i really liked those you could burn on them just get to know the trail first ,because i luckily cleared a washed out section with a massive bunny hop that was brought on by adrenal fear not skill. i also observed several no trespassing signs along the trail .In conclusion i must say i will be back.
