You will see green posts that mark trailheads as you drive within the park. Stop at the park office for a map. South of I-40 is best.

Do not know of any other trails nearby.

Review:

I agree with another reviewer that the Pipeline is the most fun. It runs along the East boundary of the park - find the East entrance to Cub Creek trail (off of Parsons Road) and you will find the Pipeline (the Pipeline is not marked on the map). The Pipeline has short steep descents with lots of washouts followed usually by short, steep climbs - will have to walk the steepest ones.

The second best area is the trails West of the park office and the Wrangler Camp, including Forest, Oak, Oxford, Cabin, and Bucksnort trails. These trails have some excellent, long decents, and most climbs can be completed without dismounting. HOWEVER, these trails are heavily used by horses, which, as you know, are very destructive to trails. It appears park managers are catering to the horse people, while restricting other trail uses.

There are no trails that were designed with mtn bkg in mind. The trails are old logging roads, fire roads, motorcycle and atv trails (which are no longer allowed), and horse trails.

Bottom line is that there is some fun to be had on these trails, but I would not recommend a special trip. If you have business in a nearby town, Jackson (40 miles), Lexington (7 miles), Parsons (15 miles), it is worth checking out.

Turn LEFT (East) onto Parsons Rd for 1.8 mi
At Sulphur Creek Trail, park your vehicle & bike onto Sulphur Creek Trl (South) for 0.5 m

Most trails are marked.

Review:

The exciting part or this little excursion is a crude oil pipeline which has been well utilized by 4-wheelers. It offers plenty of downhill shoots with abrupt uphill climbs. It will exhaust the faint of heart, but not to worry, most of the accesses to the Pipeline is over well maintained fire trails, on which you can make a day of riding over 500 miles of trails in Natchez Trace State Forest.

NOTES:

During the hunting seasons some of the trails may be closed. Check with the staff at Pin Oak Lodge for the latest information and to obtain a trail map. There is the chance of meeting a few horses or prehaps a deer on the trails, also.

Any ATV posted trail.

Land Between the Lakes, Turkey Bay. We ride there about once every month or two. Hard, muddy, rocky and a lot of fun.

Review:

The trails are great for the children to ride. They are moderate to easy to ride and the kids love it. It is true that they are short and some are a distance apart but for family riding there great. If you want hard riding we go to LBL Turkey Bay and don't take the kids.
