Recommended Route: Chinquapin now has it's own little parking area just South of 284/Cane Creek. I'd still park at the Newton Ford Picnic Area and ride out on the Upper Loop trail, then stay on the double-track after crossing the wooden bridge. That'll take you up Chinquapin Ridge.
