Great tight and tasty singletrack with a few modest climbs and downhills. Nothing to wild & crazy, but just enough to keep you amused and working all the time. The people who laid this trail out did a great job!

RIDE IT!

Read about this trail and dragged a buddy with me. lots of rain lately made the low areas boggy but fun. this trail is a tight trainer that never ceases to provide a challenge. the roots aren't bad unless you can't ride. after riding it a couple of times there are some great gap jumps and log jumps. i will start riding this as much as possible. this trail is what single track is all about. if it is too short for you, run it again but decrease your time. the yellow leaves covered one section of the trail and with my yellow tinted glasses i had a hard time concentrating o the trail and kept hearin "lucy in the sky with diamonds.." in my head... big time

I dig this trail a lot for many reasons... one, my boy Carson built it as an Eagle Scout Project...two, I love that some days I can get into a rhythm, while other days I can't...it never feels exactly the same way twice...three, it isn't far from the house, so I can hit it in no time...four, I get to see Charlie Horse on the way "Hey Tom! Wanna fire-nut?"

I was attracted to this trail by reading a review that said knarly, twisted, and rooted. They were right enough. I like having a chaneging ride and this one can be. Beginers beware you might be walking. As for me I haven't put my foot down for a while. I love going fast but once you see it you might think I'm crazy. This is my favorite trail in the east.

Left at the main fork and ride it clockwise

This trail is always muddy even when it hasn't been raining. Lot of poisin ivy in the summer. Give everything on this trail a try- it's forgiving. A little tough for beginners, but you can get off and walk what you don't want to try easily. Probably a little boring for those seeking speed. It's a slow, technical ride.

Review:

Very technical ride. This trail seems to always be muddy. Serval small log crossing with one good log stack. Numerous trenches that get bigger and bigger as you go (I think the biggest is 6ft+ deep). At the second fork, the downhill to the left has to be taken pretty slow and there's some hard log crossings at the bottom on the uphill part. The right is quicker and much easier. A couple short climbs and one good semidownhill toward the end.

The trail makes a loop, but there are several trails that seem to go off to the right on your way out, I didn't seen similar trails on the way back, so I am not sure where these spurs go.

This is a really fun ride. It had rained a couple of hours before my ride. This made the trail even more challenging. Every rock & root felt greased, and all the sliding around put me on my back more than once!

This is a far more fun and challenging ride than Harrison.

Looks like they are installing fee stations. I am not local, but a couple of guys I rode with said that they were new. They didn't have fee slips in them the day I was there.

Ride this trail !!!!!

It is by far the closest single track to Chattanooga. Still a bit loose but does drain well after rains. It isn't a long trail just a tight 4 mile loop. The trail is a constant workout with just enough climbing to burn your legs good and enough downhill to re coop and have fun. No real suprises but there are some funky roots so be mindful. Also look out for the pack of wild dogs roaming the woods.

Review:

This trail is very new and could use some more breaking in. It is still quite a challenging and fun ride however. There are some technical sections such as bridges and a few downed trees, but nothing that a beginner couldn't simply carry their bike over or around. Getting off of your bike once in while does not mean you are a wuss, only that you know your limits. I rode this trail clockwise and found it to be a great workout with the short climbs. There is enough fast downhill to keep the fun factor up. I would advise using caution on the downhill though because the trail is very tight and sometimes there are unexpected switchbacks. If you are still searching for the ever elusive singletrac in Chattanooga then you must check out this trail. It needs more traffic to help break it in but it is definitely only getting better. I would describe this trail as Harrison Bay on Steroids. Only four knobbies until the trail is broken in, but hey, it is something different in this area.

One of the first tracks I rode. Went counter clockwise. This track has long uphills but once on the other side it is downhill. The downhills have a few switchbacks between trees and roots, great technical ride. best part look for the halfpipe. I am only a begginer and had a blast. great for all ranges

There is one main loop with a cut-off that bypasses steep trail down then out of a large gulley, but you wouldn't want to bypass that, would you?! After the lead-in trail crosses the bridge it splits. The opinion of most I've talked to is that going left is the funner ride. Trail splits again about halfway (?)- take the left turn for a steep downhill. I heard they may add to this loop - go for it!

Harrison Bay

Review:

This trail is a great workout for technical skills, but not over the head of your basic intermediate rider.
Beginners could muddle through and learn a few things (like when to get off and walk) but this trail is no Harrison Bay! It's a pretty new trail, but it seems to be getting a good bit of use, being so close to town, and it's already getting broken in nicely. A great layout with obstacles, off-camber benches and twists. This trail will gain fame for its "ravine whoops" that can push your seat into some uncomfortable places if you're not careful! Without a bunch of hard climbing the pace is pretty quick. No doubt this fine new trail could be damaged easily from wet riding, so I advise dry riding only, PLEASE! Four Stars till it's broken in some more.

I rode this trial on a recommendation from friends I ride with occasionally. This thing rocks! I would call it an intermediate level trail, except for one climb, it is advanced. There is a way to bypass this hill completely if you are not up to it. It is a little short, but if you are looking for a quick workout and enjoy technical trails with some nice views of the Tennessee river this trail is for you.

Morning Wood tends to be a little loose after a dose of rain and can make some of the short steep climbs a bit challenging. Other than that it is alot of fun and is a pretty central location to most Chattanoogans. This is a newly cut trail and is getting better as traffic increases, and there is more to come as there are plans to add to it; so say the fellas that cut it.
