  Anderson Park

Location:

Tennessee

Nearest Town:

Nashville

Directions to Trailhead:

Park at the Anderson Road Public Use Area on Percy Priest Lake.

Trail Description:

There is a paved walking trail which winds through the woods. If you go down this trail and then south along the lake back toward Smith Springs Road you will come to a path that leads all the way back to the Smith Springs Pumping Station. It is a good trail that winds quietly along the lake through cedar thickets. There are often hikers and some ATV's. Not a good trail when it is wet. Several side routes to explore.

Recommended Route:
Park at Anderson Road Park. Go to the mile loop day hike trail and across the street is a residential road that dead ends. The trail starts here.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Riding in the spring is a pain unless you like riding partially in the lake, wait until the summer when the water level is down. Also, watch for people fishing along the lake.

Review:

A much better trail is from Anderson Road Park to Smith Spring Park or vice versa. Lots of fast singletrack along the lake about 5 miles long. Trails go several directions in this area with some leading to Long Hunter State Park.
