Trail Description:

One of the few trails in Bay County, the two Pine Log trails offer enjoyable riding for a wide range of skill levels. The predominantly singletrack trail travels through Florida pines at a moderate pace. The shorter 1.5-mile trail (red) is far rougher than the 4-mile trail (blue). Although mildly technical phases are interspersed throughout the trails, it is still quite easy to ride. The 4-mile track is far smoother and much faster. Some large logs have been covered in sand, making for nice jumps. Some areas of the track are under new renovation and are not very ridable, especially in damp conditions. Watch out for road crossing! Some drivers seem think they are in a drag race!

Review:

The trail is a good trail, but only if you ride it both way. There are acually 2 different trails. One is about 1/5 miles south of Pinelog called Crooked Creek, it is slightly more advanced, but still easy enought to ride. It only get difficult when stupid little kids take down the markings and signs!!! But its fun to ride on weekends and has a nice view.

Go north on 79 about a half mile to the camp ground. There is a better trail that's marked as a hiking trail. It's got some slow elevation changes and a few good obsticles. It is better than the bike trail, but not as long.

Review:

I have family in the area and decided to give it a try. This was a very easy trail. Not very technical, but it was fast and FLAT.

There are maps at the trail head.

If you're there - ride it. If you're not close don't bother!!

This trail is perfect for a first time rider who wants a gentle beginning. It is flat and fast. I have ridden the short loop only, i haven't ridden the extension yet. For more experienced riders, it is a great place to get thirty miles in, and also can be used to build speed since there aren't any hills.
