This trail is a lot of fun and can give us "older guys" a good workout. I've ridden it 4 times and it clocks in just under 10 miles when you get back to TB park. You have to walk your bike over the train tressel to get to the trail due to the creek being flooded. Once on the trail, the first 2 miles are straight forward. Lots of roots, some sand and quick climbs and desecents. You come to a few roads and have to keep a look out for the trail usually on your right hand side. If you miss one of these trails you can follow the road paralleling the lakes and pick up the trail again with no problem. Cross between the lakes at about the 3 1/2 mile point and cross the RR tracks and pick up the trail on the other side. Works out to some fields after about 1.3 miles and you start comeing back. Once you get back and go over the tressel again continue the ride through Tom Brown and you can log about 14 miles. Great fun!!

Got to Tom Brown Park to ride the trails for the first time, rode around for an hour or so on the trails - fun stuff, nice climbs, but nothing too exciting. Then me and my buddy found this trail. Lots of fun - real singletrack action - reminded me of some North Georgia trails I've ridden minus some elevation of course. Still, great climbs and fast weaving downhills. Enough technical elements to keep your concentration sharp - not too much to slow you down though. This is a fun trail that I enjoyed much more than the Tom Brown trails. Get on it and sprint! Rode it out and back twice. Went around the lake at the end and crossed the Dyke to the Railroad tracks - but didn't look like any trails where out that way (am I right ro did I miss something?). Don't miss this trail if visiting Tom Brown. Loved the cars on the trail - makes you wonder how they got there.....

Park by the BMX course and ride down the hill with the K-9 training area on your right. Cadillac starts on the other side of the paved trail.

Review:

Probably the most technical trail in Tally, but nothing an experienced beginner can't handle.

Fun trail. Nice short climbs. Great addition to Tom Brown for sure. Not sure what to do once I got to the lakes, but the journey there was nice. Would be nice if it looped back to the park. Instead, one must turn around and ride the same trail back.

A good trail. Not the hardest and not even close to being the easiest. The only bad thing is that the trail is not marked well and you can get lost out by the lakes. A lot of fun with some nice climbs - not expected in florida.

Begins from Tom Brown Park on Capitol Circle East. Entrance is from an open field on the exercise trail between the BMX track and the Dog Park. Connects with Tom Brown Park Trail and the Fern Trail.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Lake Overstreet.

Review:

Entrance is hard to find, but the trail itself is marked with orange tape. Trail was just build by a local bike club. Very difficult drops, climbs and log jumps. An occasional tree fall that has to be walked over. Passes by some rusting 50s era junked cars, hence the name. Eventually crosses a causeway across Piney Z Lake. Go left along the Railroad tracks for a few yards after crossing the lake. There is a steep 5 foot drop off by an Oak Tree. Walk up this for a continuation through open woods. About 5 miles from the park to the causeway, but seems longer. Nice open North Florida scenery.

I was in from Jacksonville for the Holidays and headed to TBP for a ride by myself. I hooked up with 4 other locals from the Capitol City Cycling club who took me through this new trail. It was a little wet and cold that day but the trail was still in good condition though a little slick. This was a great ride ! Some good technical areas and some good little drops and climbs. Thanks for being nice to an out-of-towner, hats off to the CCC guys !

Review:

This new trail has encouraged lots of riders around town to pull their bikes back out of the garage. This somewhat technical single track is loads of fun. There are lots of log crossings and steep inclines and remains fairly consistent throughout the entire ride. This trail is fun all the way though and is just as fun both ways. The trail gets its name from the junked cars that are scattered at the end of the trail, however none of them are Cadillacs. I guess the trailblazers around here are not into antique cars. Who cares you can only see them for a few seconds anyways. The lush scenery is great and is completely out in the woods; the view of the lake is only occasionally spoiled by the train tracks below. I do not recommend this trail to fresh beginners because it can tend to be frustrating if you are not used to obstacles. Even more recently the trail has been extended out further and eventually pops out near some dykes. This new extension is not as fun as the first half but it is hard to say no to fresh single track. If you start downtown and take the Fern Trail into Tom Brown and do half a lap then continue on to the Cadillac trail then take the roads back to Tom Brown etc.. You can make a nice 30 mile ride that can be tailored either longer or shorter. VERY FUN check it out!!
