Recommended Route:
San Andreas Ave side trailhead to the top of Burdell, then descend down to the Partridge Knolls side, turn around and summit again. Starting fom the Partridge Knolls side and doing it in reverse is fine as well.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Novato Does not have anything else worth while.

Review:

All fire road that's mostly moderate climbing with a few "grinder" steep sections - none of the grinds are very long, just little flair ups. You are exposed to the sun the whole ride. The view from the top is beautiful but the views on the ride to the top and back down again are not - just dry grass with an occasional oak tree. There are a few rocky sections that, combined with the slope, can make the climbing difficult for weak climbers and a nuisance for "uphill haters". Watch out for a few small extra-gravelly patches on your descent - your front wheel may get washed out when you lean the bike over for the fast corners.
