A scooter on mtbr? You got that right! Scooters are cool. Electric, Gas powered, Kick Scooters... the biker with several bikes already deserves a pleasant change. This is a kick scooter on steroids! It's got huge ball-bearing wheels, a front brake with a tektro brake lever and the platform is made of magnesium for light weight.

Construction:
This unit is proudly made in Scranton, Philadelphia by the Xootr crew. Construction is top notch and the unit folds up and unfolds easily. The handlebar adjusts up and down nicely and is usable by kids and adults. When the handlebar is down, the brake cable gets in the way a bit.

Test Ride:
A razor scooter on steroids? A razor scooter done right! Ever since I saw the folding scooter phenomenon explode, I always wondered about its usability and safety. Those rollerblade wheels just seemed so wrong for sidewalks and streets. It was unstable, specially for bigger riders and little cracks on the sidewalks and pebbles would stop the scooter and send the rider stumbling.

So there's the logic for the big-wheeled scooter. It's more stable and it rolls nicely on sidewalks and rough road surfaces. The platform to stand on is nice and big. There's enough room for two large adult feet here.

Here's a nice bonus... high-quality ball bearings. One kick on this scooter and it's sure to bring a smile on anyone's face. Hang on and coast, and coast and coast. This thing rolls smooth. Give it the slightest downhill slope and it rolls forever.

It's a good thing it's got brakes cause we still need to slow down for corners. The brake mechanism is a bike bike lever that pushes a brakepad on to the top of the front tire. It works quite nicely and controls the speed and can stop scooter and rider. On wet roads, braking degrades a lot. For rear braking, the old 'shoe on the tire' is advised.

So there you go, Xootr Mg... perhaps the perfect implementation of the kick scooter. Parents and kids will be fighting over 'who's turn it is on the Xootr. It's guaranteed to put a smile on the rider's face.

"Wait your turn dad!"

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Xootr Launches Mg Model Scooter

Scranton, PA -- Xootr LLC today launched its newest model -- the Xootr Mg. The Xootr Mg is the company's most advanced scooter. The deck and frame are an integral single-piece structure cast from magnesium. Magnesium is one of the lightest metals available and is one third lighter than aluminum, yet with comparable strength. Furthermore, the integral design allows the deck to be thinner and therefore allows the deck to be lower to the ground while maintaining adequate ground clearance. A lower deck allows more efficient kicking because the rider's leg does not have to bend as much to stroke the road surface.

The deck of the Mg is powder coated an elegant gray and then "dots" are CNC machined to provide traction and bright visual accents. The industrial design of this unique deck surface was performed by the award-winning Silicon Valley firm Lunar Design.

Mg is pronounced "em-gee" and refers to the chemical symbol for the element magnesium.

Chief Technologist, Nathan Ulrich, comments, "Magnesium is really the perfect material for a kick scooter. It is lighter than aluminum yet just as strong. Its slightly lower modulus also provides for a plush ride."

The Xootr Mg is available for sale via the company's website http://www.xootr.com.

Xootr LLC (http://www.xootr.com) is the manufacturer of the Xootr brand of kick scooters. The company was formed in 2003 as part of a reorganization of Nova Cruz Products, Inc. Nova Cruz and Xootr have been manufacturing and selling the Xootr scooter since 1999. Xootr is the leading brand of high-performance kick scooter for adults.
