The Otto X is an impressive display of engineering. The lighthead is a thing of beauty with a ring of LEDs surrounding a halogen lamp. There are two brightness levels for the Halogen and two for the LED.
Nice, but 4 levels is a lot to toggle through to turn the light on and off. 2 levels is probably sufficient. The electronic switch though is one of the best in the industry so
it's up to the task with brightness indicators and gradual dimming of the lights.
The charger is the best in class with it's LED readout. And the battery is small but mighty featuring Lithium Ion technology.
The included handlebar mount is simplistic but it seems up to the task. It is a far cry however from the center-mounted, fully adjustable systems from Niterider for example.
How does it perform? The LED is not bright at all. It does last forever though. Also, since it's a nice white color, your eyes seem to adjust to it and you can see quite well. The halogen is
probably the best in class. It is bright, wide and has a nice pattern.
So it's a nice light but hideously expensive at $675. The headband mount is a little strange. A helmet mount would have been more appropriate.
An excellent combination of our 25W SR12 bulb and 20 ultra bright LEDs. The Otto X hybrid light will never dissappoint you. Burntime up to 38 hours will make sure you allways have enough light left to return home. Features like fail-safe make sure you never suddenly end up in the dark. The mount is moveable and therefor can be adjusted to any kind of handlebar.
Due to the type of palladium-treated reflectors, the light generated by our lamps has a very far range and it will not produce the rings that you might know from using a torch. Colour temperature is up to 3600 kelvin; which means the light is very bright and white in colour. Therefore, even in wet outdoor conditions, you will have the best light.
