For 2007, Fox Racing Shox has focused on redesigns that improve the range of adjustability and ease of use of their products while retaining the light weight and strength that the company's forks and shocks are known for. For 2007, Fox is introducing an all-new chassis for their popular 32mm forks and releasing a new 36 fork model: the super lightweight 36 FLOAT RC2. The Terralogic platform system has been improved by the ProTune system, and the new Talas II system has a new lever that makes fork height adjustments quick and easy. The Fox RP23 shock features a new ProPedal system that dramatically increases range of adjustability while still being as easy as a moving a dial and a lever.
Protune
Fox has gone back to improve upon the Terralogic platform system with the new ProTune system. In 2006 forks, the rider could only choose between RaceTune (lockout or plush) and TrailTune (efficient or plush) platforms, but now TerraLogic with the ProTune external adjustment allows riders to dial in the amount of platform. This means that a rider can choose lockout, efficient, plush, or anywhere in between with a simple adjustment to meet the needs of any trail.
New Talas and Adjuster:
2007 Fox Talas forks will now make travel adjustments with a 90 degree sweep of a lever, instead of a crank. This new Talas II system still keeps its ability to give the appropriate spring rate for each travel length, automatically increasing pressure and spring rate to correct settings as travel is reduced.
FIT Damper Cartridge
The new Fox Isolated Technology cartridge has a closed bath, which means that the oil is separated from the air, keeping the oil free from emulsion that can lead to lag in fading and damping. The FIT cartridges offer lighter weight, increased damping performance, and added versatility over an open bath. The rebound range is now larger, and the cartridge adjustments have been redesigned and moved for easier access and use.
FOX 40:
The Fox 40 has already proved its ability in the three short years since its release as a top-notch DH fork. The fork is updated for 2007, but it keeps its sub-7 pound weight and beefy 40mm stanchions. The 40 comes in two models, the R and super-adjustable RC2, and is available in 7 and 8 inch travel models. The RC2 has externally adjustable high and low speed compression damping, and both models feature Fox's new FIT cartridge.
