| Duration Product Used: | 1 Year |
| Strengths: | Scandium frame, comfortable geometry, climbs well, the Syncros wheels are really nice. |
| Weaknesses: | Not quite as light as a hardtail |
| Similar Products Tried: | Brodie Sauce b-team, Turner Nitrous, Kona Kikapu, Jamis Dragon Pro, Brodie climbMax |
| Bike Setup: | Pretty much stock with Noir cranks, Candy 4ti pedals, Juicy ult, full sram - 24.5 lbs |
| Bottom Line: | After selling my Brodie Sauce a few years back I was hoping to get my hands on another, however Brodie no longer makes them, so I gave the Mettle b-team a try. After test riding one, I found the riding position to be similiar to the Sauce. The bike is built solid and is super stiff. I wasn't quite sure about the rear shock (MC3.3) at first but once I got it dialed it worked very good. Although the bike doesn't have the super steep racer geometry it climbs and accellerates extremely well. It's got good flow through the single track and effortlessly carries speed. A great solid cross country race steed or marathon race bike. |
