from London, ON, Canada Date Reviewed: July 19, 2007 | | Favoriate Trail: | Fanshawe Lake Trail | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Price Paid: |
$700.00 | | Purchased At: | 2007 model | | Strengths: | Aluminum saves weight as it is used all over the bike. Specalized rear end. Suspension setup is perfect for hardcore XC or freeriding. A great entry level full suspension bike. | | Weaknesses: | A month after I started riding it, the suspension components started making creaking noises when peddling hard. I am still trying to narrow down where the noise is coming from with my bike shop, but I just think things need to be lubed up and/or tightened. | | Similar Products Used: | KHS XC-104 | | Bike Setup: | Stock so far. (Handle bars cut down 3/4" either side) | | Bottom Line: | -For someone that would like to buy a cheip full suspension for XC and free riding this bike is the one you want. The bike is great right out of the store. -Oil F&R shocks make the bike heavier than it needs to be so the next step is air shocks. -The 6" disc brakes are great on the XC trails, but if you do any fast down hill sections, 8" roters and/or hydralic system upgrade should be made as I felt I needed more braking at times in the downhill areas. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
