Date Reviewed: September 6, 2006
Favoriate Trail:All of them
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $400.00
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:Great suspension design, pretty light weight, looks cool.
Weaknesses:Other than the same thing I have found with really all full suspension bikes (sometimes slight play and maybe a little creaking here and there in the linkage that needs a little tweaking from time to time) none.
Similar Products Used:Old LTS design, various other i-drives (team, 1.0, 2.0, id-5 1.0)
Bike Setup:Crossmax wheels, SRAM XO, Juicy 7's, Stylo GXP cranks, Egg Beaters, Skareb fork, ec-70 bars, ea-70 stem & post.
Bottom Line:I have always liked the i-drive design, it soaks up most everything, pedals very well, and rides like a champ up and downhill. My previous light weight bike (still have it) is an i-drive team which is lighter but not as stiff as the new design is under power. The id-4 is actually more of a trailbike than a pure x-country race bike, but I have raced it twice and it rocks! Bottom line this bike is awesome, climbs like a goat, pedals like a champ, very predictable handling in all situations, not a downhill bike but rocks on the way down too. I bought just the frame off of ebay and built it to my liking so it is not gt's package.
