from Reston, VA USA Date Reviewed: May 9, 2006 | | Favoriate Trail: | Elizabeth Furnace | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Price Paid: |
$2200.00 | | Purchased At: | Revelution Cycles | | Strengths: | SOLID, FUN, the lockout features are amazing!! This bike is so fun to ride. Locking out the front and or rear suspension is a huge advantage. The gate option on both are also a huge advantage and work well. I originally thought I would take off that feature to lighten the bike up~ but no way... The brakes are SICK- came from Avid Mechanicals (i like those too) however these have a much better feel and dont need constant attention. | | Weaknesses: | The rear shocks rebound makes a squishy noise. I have it adjusted per the manual/my weight. This issue was also noted in Mountain Bike Action Mag. review. The bike is a bit heavy I have size 14 frame and after taking off reflectors etc. it weighs 25lbs. The tires are ok but I will be switchin them, they do not shed mud easy. | | Similar Products Used: | Giant NRS, CAKE 2, | | Bike Setup: | New easton seat post needed the extra lenth~ everything else stock | | Bottom Line: | This is an awesome bike, if you are particular about weight and have an unlimited budget you may want to purchase the Fuel 9. However, after a few more months of beating her up I plan to lighten her as parts are in need of replacement. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
