I abosolutely loved them! never washed out and had tons of grip when others didnt. so for my new race bike i had to keep it going with Hutchinson's. My teammates love this tire too. but im just sad on the life. i hope maybe the Tubeless will be a little longer. im going to be getting Tubeless Pythons. ill post them to. happy trails Shane |

| Bottom Line: | Just 5 words: "Proper Tire Pressure is Critical". These tires came with my new bike. It was my first experience with tubeless tires. I erroneosly inflated them to 45lbs PSI (since that how I filled my standard tires). I thought these tires sucked in the mud, tree roots & over logs. I was looking on MTBR to see reviews of other tires, & checked out other people's view of these tires. I saw comments about tire pressure & then went to the Manufacturers web site for the tires specifications. They suggest 29 lbs for the 2.0 tire. To make a long story short, They are much better at the lower pressure. I'm going to ride them for a while longer. Check out the specs & give thier suggested tire pressure a try. |

| Bottom Line: | I bought these for their supposed mud capabilities. I did the rainy Sea Otter this year with them, and though the course had a lot of mud, the 2.0 Mosquitos let me pedal through stuff that stopped other riders dead. (Supposedly the narrower version is even better at this.) For that alone, these tires are worthy contenders. Beyond the mud, they do fine, but nothing special. Rear tires can wear fast, but my rear Mosquito wore faster than anything I'd ever seen (although the Conti ExplorerPro UST is close). So this can be a "rich man's tire," but they're great at what they do. |

| Bottom Line: | After reading the reviews on this site last year and after having won a fair amount in atlantic city, i decided to get the best wheel and tire combo that wasn't too much of a waste of money (since i'm only an occassionaly rider anyways). Of utmost importance was maintainence. These hutchinson mosquito tires will be the only brand i ever use from now on. And The Cycle Center on broad street installed them so well that i've only had to put more air in the rear tire about once every 3 months; the front tire is about once a week. I'm well pleased. |

| Strengths: | Excellent mud tire. Must be run at proper LOW pressure to get grip. I think that everyone who has been complaining about this tire in mud must have it up at 50psi. might as well run baldies at that psi. |

The only thing i was wishing for was a little more comfort in the front on the downhills. I plan on fixing this by running a 2.0 mosquito up front and the 1.7 in back. They climb great at 2 bar. I rode them most of this wet winter and anytime it was damp or muddy these tires were more slippery than any others I've tried. They do not shed mud at all. And when the trail drys out..zoom. Fast dry tire, dangerous mud tire. |

| Bottom Line: | I gave up on the Kenda's because they were impossible to mount or dismount. If I had had a flat from the trailhead I would have been walking out. I bought the Mosquitos because they were cheap (13 ea) and got good reviews here. The traction in the wet though is very poor. I can't recommend them for those conditions. They are probably fine in dry hardpack conditions. I'm going to try the Pythons next I think. I would have gotten them last time, but the deal on these was too good to pass up. I was very pleased by the ride of the Kharismas, but the mounting problem is just too severe, even with levers. |

The mosquittos just don't live up to the posts I have read, at least for the wet northwest, with mud, rocks and lots of roots. Pick the Python for better traction and root contact. Also, the fewer knobs expose greater surfaces to puncture, which I had on the first few rides.... I would avoid this tire unless you fly along dry smooth trail without puncture obstacles. I guess that is why it is selling for under $15...... |

| Strengths: | The cheapest UST tires you can buy. Pretty good quality - don't leak much air. Good traction on soft trails (Pacific NW in the summer). |
| Weaknesses: | I'd say this tires are only good for soft trails. If you have to climb on a loose rocky (or muddy) trail, forget it. Running them at or below 30 psi seems to help but can ruin your rims. The rubber compound is very soft; the rear tire will quickly wear out and one day you'll get a flat - it's easy to get one when there is no knobs left. I got a flat today when riding a paved road (also noticed many little cuts from rocks on the rear tire). |

| Bottom Line: | I've ridden many XC tires with tubes over the past 9 years. My favorites have been tires with all-trail-conditions tread like the Panaracer Fire Pro, the IRC Mythos XC and Panaracer Trail Blaster. All have performed admirably, and I never felt the need for anything else. When I had my newest bike built a couple of weeks ago, the builder talked me into UST rims. At first I rode them with my Panaracer tube tires on them, and I pinch flatted on each of my 1st two, very short rides. So I bought a pair of Misquitos and took the UST plunge -- based entirely on the reviews on this Website. I was apprehensive because the casing seems to be a bit light on knobbies, with a fair amount of smooth rubber exposed to contact the trail. But I decided to give-em a try anyway. I've ridden them 3 days so far -- all in West Virginia's Monongahela Forest. And all on rain-soaked, rocky and rooty trails. In a nutshell, they hooked-up well and never let me down. I'm looking forward to riding them on dry trails next. A couple of first-time-user observations: (a) I rode them at PSI between 30 and 38, and they seemed to do best at or near 30, (b) they manage to conform to stones, rocks, roots, etc. without deflecting my wheels, which means better tracking, (c) when I impact the trail after getting some air, the tires compress radically and make noise similar to the sound of a tube tire going flat (this takes some getting used to), and (d) the tires held air and kept seated on the rim under some pretty aggressive riding / demanding conditions (did I mention that I weigh 195lbs?). If my longer-term impressions change over the next month or so, I'll write another review. |

They conform to technical trail irregularities and hook up with proper spinning technique (This means NO STANDING when climbing, silly bear.) VERY comfortable over rough terrain, roll fast, shed mud, and I haven't flatted yet, even though I have beat the H&LL out of them over rocks, shale, granite, and roots. The tubed version I have run wears out very fast on the rear, only 250 miles unfortunately. I am hopefull that these MAY last longer, time will tell. But I would still buy them agian, even if they don't last. They ride so nice. |

I heard all the BAD stories too and finally just had to try it for myself. when it rains in missouri is is really slick here because of clay soil. these tires stick to everything. wet or dry soft or hard. If you clean you rims and use soapy water to install them they seal GREAT. this is day 5 and still no air loss NONE. I have got almost 70 miles on them now and still have 30 psi. these are really great tires. If you so alot of on the road riding you should probably not get these they will probably wear a little fast on pavement, but if you are like me and love tho ride xc you must go tubeless. the small little bumps the suspension can ot touch are gone now and my confidence is building with every ride. If I ever get a flat I will let you know how that goes. I am going to keep a very small bottle of soapy water in my camelbak just in case. |

| Strengths: | first tubeless wheelset, NO FLATS yet or any of the problems i thought would be associated with tubeless. running low pressure is rad!!! but can get pretty tedious off the trails when you don't have a strong pump to pump them back up. significantly better in every aspect than my stock bontrager tires. i haven't had much wear, they're really easy to install after you do the first tire, and they're great in mud. |
| Weaknesses: | my rear tire would lose a couple of psi a night (which is normal) when i first installed them, but i think it was because i forgot to seal the bead with water - which i did on the front tire and have had no air loss. lately the rear tire stopped losing air. |

| Bottom Line: | i've been completely happy with these tires and i highly recommend them. make sure you 1) have a good floor pump 2) seal the bead with water 3) pump the tires to at least 60 psi upon installation to seal the bead in and you should be good to go. i bought these because i read they were the most compatible and trouble free ust tires for my wheelset, though there may now be other great tires out there. with these tires on a bontrager race tubeless wheelset, i can say that "tubeless tire nightmares" are now a myth. don't fear switching over. |

| Strengths: | Great traction on hardpack. Thick carcass which virtually eliminates the possibility for pinch flat. |
| Weaknesses: | Very soft rubber that wears out in one season or less depending on how much you ride. Don't ever ride through a goathead patch or you will throw the tire away. Impossible to patch the little punctures. |

| Bottom Line: | If you are going to spend $25 to $40 for a tire they need to make the rubber compound a little more durable so they last longer. I am still searching for the best tubeless tire. Haven't found one yet. |
