Favoriate Trail:Tahoe Rim Trail
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $55.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Lightweight @ 515 per tire; very good rolling resistance; hard pack riding conditions
Weaknesses:extremely loose or muddy conditions
Similar Products Used:Panaracer; Kenda Nevegals;
Bike Setup:Intense 5.5
Bottom Line:I recently put these tires on my bike and I have been pleasantly pleased. The tires simply perform better than you would expect for a lightweight low-knob tire. They are excellent in hardpack conditions.

I'm not sure about the other review on the 1.9 LK as I've been training on these tires in Downieville and if there is a course that shreds tires, Downieville's baby heads and downhill qualifies! I haven't suffered a tear, tire leak of any problems. They do not hook up as well on loose climbs or corner as well as more agressive tires in the loose shale, but that's the trade-off for a tire that weighs significantly less (.3 lb per tire).

If you're riding primarily hardpack to loose and looking for a high performance lightweight tire, look no further.

Date Reviewed: May 25, 2008
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:Weighs 600grams, not bad for XC, relatively good puncture resistance, Good price, easy to seat.
Weaknesses:They loose air through their sidewalls. Lots of it, compared to other tubeless tires. Gets better with time and sealant.
Similar Products Used:Crossmark and Larsen TT (maxxis), Kenda SB8, Kenda Kharma, Vredestein Killerbee,
Bike Setup:Giant anthem. XT stuff, Dt Swiss XR1540 wheels.
Bottom Line:Very irritating to fit them for the first time. You think you did something wrong... So you refit them and check with soap and water. The first time they were flat in an hour. They were "airtight" in a week. But they still loose more air than all the tubeless tires I have tried.
