Strengths:
Tons of grip Easy to mount and remove without tire levers Inflates easily with a hand pump Really do work well in all types of terrain Durability Good volume for a 2.0
Bike Setup:
S/C Blur Lt, Formula Oro brakes, Fox Talas, Rest pretty much XT including wheelset
Bottom Line:
I don't think these tires have been given a fair shake in the previous reviews (Maybe they changed them?) I did more than 1500km on mine, including mudfests, hardpack, sandy beaches, asphalt and lots of rock. One ride included a 25km ascent, gaining nearly 2000m, much of it over loose, sharp rocks. We then turned and went back down again. Went through a set of brake pads, but the tires were fine. Had 2 punctures on the rear soon after I put them on - a metal spike, and a broken bottle. The tire is easy to patch, and no problems since. I do use Stan's. The grip on all types of surface is really good. I weigh over 90kg, and I am usually quite hard on tires. I have not lost ONE knob. In fact, they would probably last another 1500km. Even the central ones on the rear(usually the first to go) are still fine.I have recently changed to Continental mountain kings, only because I like to try lots of different tires. Will keep the Michelins in my garage, and would happily go back to them.

Strengths:
Reasonable grip on dry loose terrain, light weight, black/grey dual compound looks good on bike!
Weaknesses:
Tread/knobs tearing away/coming off, puncture resistance was bad, bad grip on tight corners, not very fast rolling, bad on very loose dry terrain & sand.
Similar Products Used:
Michelin Hot-S, Specialized "The Captain"
Bike Setup:
Scott Scale 30 (06), Shim XTR wheels
Bottom Line:
The worst thing about these tires is the durability and the puncture resistance. Fair enough, in Alice Springs the terrain is either very rocky and dry or sandy & dry and we have some of the largest thorns known to man kind. But the knobs on these tires started tearing away after just 2hrs riding! After this I was expecting them to come off completely, which they didn't but they did succumb to some pretty large gashes which the sealant wouldn't plug. If this was a cheap tire 30-50AUD then I wouldn't even bother writing this but they cost 130AUD each, so was expecting a lot more riding than 110KM!! Now gonna try the new Specialized "The Captain".

Bottom Line:
The bottom line is do not use these tires on anything but smoth dirt----------no rocks of any kind, because after your ride is done you will have a tire that has EVERY SINGLE KNOB RIPPED OR TORN OFF!!!!!!!! I'm not exxagerating! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. The only way I would ever have these tire again is if they were free and SOMEBODY ELSE was installing a new tire on my bike before every ride. POS TIRE.
