$4.00 | | Purchased At: | Performance | | Strengths: | None | | Weaknesses: | Everything | | Similar Products Used: | REI Novara | | Bike Setup: | Rocky Mountain Hardtail | | Bottom Line: | This review is actually for the 1.5-2.0 Schrader MTB tube. These tubes need to be recalled. The lot numbers on the tubes in question are 07 02 77 34. Riding an old Schwinn MTB turned city bike has flattened at least 4 of these tubes. They flatten for no reason except they are cheap. They split at the seam at correct tire pressure and while cruising slow on a flat paved road. Performance buys these for probably 50 cents and then sells them "on sale" for $4.00. I've had to walk the bike back from the store on several occasions. Once the tire just blew sitting in the garage. Performance tires seem OK, just avoid their tubes. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$3.00 | | Purchased At: | Performance | | Strengths: | Cheap.. easily available. Works well enough when they aren't defective.. | | Weaknesses: | The tube blew my tire off the rim today after I repaired a flat and filling it to 45psi. The place it blew wasn't the patch spot. It happened at the valve area. Never had it happen.. except it also happened yesterday INSIDE of a Performance store on someone else's bike. The tire blew after the mechanic handed off the "repaired" bike to the customer lol. | | Bottom Line: | I wouldn't buy Performance tubes ever again. I rather pay a bit more for quality than the chance of the tube blow up on me again. I wasn't even out riding on it! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

You get what you pay for, and these are sh*t for sh*t. Too thin unless you do smooth trail riding ONLY. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$2.00 | | Purchased At: | Performance | | Strengths: | Weight | | Weaknesses: | It's too damn thin. This ain't a DH tube, but it could be a little thicker. | | Similar Products Used: | Maxxis DH tubes, cheapos chinese tubes, intense tubes.... | | Bike Setup: | KHS fetish | | Bottom Line: | Quick fix, and somewhat good if you ride with lots of pressure. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Boulder, CO Date Reviewed: January 26, 2003 | | Favorite Trail: | Kenosha Pass / Colorado Trail | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Strengths: | Round, Black, Rubber Tubular construction provides pressurized air chamber for pnuematic tires. | | Weaknesses: | Nothing Special | | Bike Setup: | Two wheels, chain, shifters, frame, saddle, etc. | | Bottom Line: | These are decent, but nothing special. I think Performance must buy these in massive quantities from Kenda and/or Cheng Shin. They are essentially identical to what came with your bike. Probably not better, probably not worse. Periodically they go on sale so I'll give 'em a good rating for value. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
