Strengths:
Easy set up and use. More convenient than a roller type.
Weaknesses:
The brackets mounting the mag unit are under sized causing flex during use but a fatal flaw. The rubber rim drive wheels (roller Pulley) fell apart after several hours of use. Customer service sent replacement parts no questions asked. Excellent customer service.
Bottom Line:
Overall, I like the unit. For a casual user it's a good product.

wont wear your tires, easy to set up....works better as a bike stand!
Weaknesses:
The resistance was weak, ok just for spinning to streatch your legs. The plastic bushing that keeps the magnet unit straight broke after 3 rides. This thing is a p.o.s. It looks nice but is very cheaply made. This is my first trainer and hope for something better next time, what a waste of money. To everyone who had bad customer service, at least you got to talk to someone, I was yet to get a responce from them. It was inexpensive but I would think the thing should have gotten more then a few hours before it broke

If you want a bike stand for the money, get a bike stand and leave this piece of junk at the bike shop....wish I could give it no chilies!

Seems like a good bargain for a first trainer. Value for money.

Bottom Line:
I was given this trainer by a freind who was leaving town. There right cover was broken and I thought to check the reviews right here. I noticed a review mentioning the poor customer care at Minoura, and he mentioned the name of the manager, Jeff Zell. I have to tell you all, please dont try to hurt someones reputation if you are having a bad day. I spoke with Mr. Jeff Zell at Minoura and told them about my situation, and right away, he asked for my shipping address, and without me asking for replacement, he told me that I wil be having the missing items in 5-6 days. This is called 100 % customer satisfaction, and this is the company you would want to take your business to.

Strengths:
Stable Fairly quiet Easy to adjust
Weaknesses:
Insufficient resistance Drive wheels slip under hard acceleration
Similar Products Used:

Bottom Line:
Bought this unit so I could hook up any of my bikes (road, XC, DH) and train. Saves wear on the tires, too. Disappointed with the resistance of the magnetic unit - set on max, it's OK with a road bike, but with a 42-44 chainring on a MTB, there's not enough resistance.

Strengths:
Great idea.
Weaknesses:
Completely defective, non-existant QA by Minoura. Support is a joke.
Similar Products Used:

Bottom Line:
I purchased this with a great deal of excitement, as I was going to use it to help recover from a knee injury. I was let down completely because:
1) One of the foldable legs was cut too short (or one too long). It was 5/8" shorter than the other leg, making it impossible for the unit to balance flat.
2) The resistance module was utterly defective. Right out of the box the wheel did not turn. Upon inspecting and dismantling it I found the whole shaft was bent, causing part of it to rub and chip the magnet inside.
3) After calling Minoura, speaking with with warranty manager Jeff Zell, was told that they are proud of their 0.5% failure rate and that they fully support the product and it was a fluke... to return it to Performance for replacement since quote "they should foot the bill for the damage".
I'll be trying someone else's trainer, even if I have to buy new tires for it. As other users have mentioned, it feels flimsy and it is. You may be better off trying something more sturdy and "professional".

Strengths:
Easy to set up! Fairly lightweight! Can hear TV over the noise. Remote resistance is great! Rim drive is nice since I used both road and mtn bike on it.
Weaknesses:
The wheels that ride on the rims deteriorated VERY quickly from the inside out and ended up shredding where the rubber connects to the plastic around the bearings... I'm hoping it's covered in the warranty! I rode 30 min 4 days a week over 6 mos. before it died on me. I noticed a lot of wheel slip as well, but now I'm thinking it was the beginning of the drive wheel shredding.

It was a good product.. easy to use, adjustible, quiet, but it just didn't live up to my expectations.. for $160 I would expect something called a "trainer" to hold up to "training!"

Bottom Line:
My girlfriend got this for her new Raven. I'm totally amazed how quiet this thing is. My old trainer listed above is loud. They've really improved there product line. This thing is easy to set up and there doesn't appear to be any slippage of the wheels on the rims. Came with a remote that is made so you can put it on and take it off quickly with no tools.
