    Favoriate Trail:Hole In THE Ground
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $1600.00
    Purchased At:www.grognardbikeco.com
Strengths:Best fit and finish I have ever seen. Everything works super well together for a 29er. Most 29ers have funny shaped tubes, or the forks or bars hit. Not this bike, it all fits and works great. Has the typical strengths of a 29er. Because it was custom fit to me for my style if riding it works great. It has easily shaved minutes off of my favorite technical-rocky climbs.
Weaknesses:The paint really catches everyones eye but is not as durable as I would like. That however should be expected with a super nice looking paint job. Dave does offer more durable paint for people not so hung up on super looks. This weakness is no reflexion of the quality of materials, more just the nature of the beast when dealing with super nice paint. With all that said, I will still go with the nice paint in the future because it looks so damn good.
Similar Products Used:Cannondale 1FG. Specialized hardtail as a SS.
Bike Setup:Avid mech. disk brakes. White Ind. hubs, BB and drivetrain. Velocity VXC 29er hoops. RS Reba fork. Thompson stem and seat post. WTB saddle, Easton Monkeylights.
Bottom Line:The best bike I have ever ridden. It was also a great experience going thru the build process. Super fun! It was well worth the $$ for somebody that has already ridden a lot of bikes and is looking for the ultimate custom build.

    Favoriate Trail:Tahoe Rim
    Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:The speed of a cross bike on the flats, plushness like a downhill bike on the technical descents, and the ability to easily rollover and through and up almost anything on the uphill which makes your line much less important. The bike is very resilient, responsive, and comfortable. It has incredible geometry (most likely because it was custom fitted as all Grognard bikes are) and is the best fitting bike I have ever ridden. Also, if you like having a unique bike and people drooling over your bike because it is so different (since it is custom painted) and has the coolest head badge I have seen on a bike then this is definitely the bike for you.
Weaknesses:A little heavy because it is steel but steel is real baby!!!
Similar Products Used:Just about everything. Spot singlespeed, Bianchi Team Cross Concept Cross Bike, Bianchi Singlespeed, Specialized S-Works, Felt, and much more.
Bike Setup:Currently setup as a geared bike and was previously setup as a singlespeed. Right now, it has SRAM X-9 shifters and rear derailleur, XTR front derailleur, Chris King hubs, FSA cranks, Boone Ti Rings, WTB laser v saddle, team reba rock shox fork, avid juicy disc brakes, chris king headset
Bottom Line:If you want the best fitting bike that handles great, is super fast, comfortable, and is completely unique then this is the bike for you. If you are a weight weenie who wants the lightest bike then this is not your bike.
